Garth Brooks in Vegas??

Did anyone else hear about this?

I was listening to the radio in San Diego this morning and the DJ said its rumored that Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement to headline his own show at the Wynn in Las Vegas!!!!

You know, like Celene Dion did at Cesars....He said the official announcement should be coming soon.

How freaking awesome would THAT be?!?!?! I am keeping my fingers crossed FOR SURE!!!!

They (the article I read) said Thursday. My bf's brother works at the Wynn but we can't get ahold of him to ask if he knows of anything. Saw him twice at the LA Staples concerts. Amazing!

My co-worker is friends with Steve Wynn, I will ask him today if he can get some info before 1pm tomorrow. I would for sure go see him again. He was great in LA!

this is just too much for me to handle..lol. SC tickets on Fri, GARTH announcement tomorrow. I saw 4 of his 5 shows at Staples last year and each one was different. I've missed him previously in Vegas. He IS my all time favorite. I may just need to lease a condo in Vegas while he's there!! I can see a girls trip, road trip for a Garth weekend in Vegas !!!

i think it is true. I know i read in a magazine that he did a tight lipped, small show, and the way people figured it out? a black cowboy hat on the seat! OMG.... i will be going if its true.

How did they lure people into the venue to see him? That would be awesome. If I saw a hat on a seat...depending on how it was shaped, I would have to say, I probably would figure it out!! What a dream for a small audience. Thats the only way I would see him again. Staples was a joke to me. (just my opinion...ducking now):cool:

edit:::: ooopss didnt see all the people actually enjoying his staples show. Sorry but to our crowd, the sound was horrible. Guess that is what made it horrible.

wow... here's the scoop.... 4 months (16 weeks) a year for 5 years, shows friday, saturday (2) and sunday... each ticket $125, at the Wynn Hotel. Full concert starting in Jan. !!!!!

True, and i posted to you on FB, but he also said that it will be more than just the 16 wks, they will announce the new days every qtr thru out the year. So hopefully he will be there all year with a few exceptions of his kids soccer games as he noted.

That will make it awesome. I bet those first 16wks sell out in 5 min

My husband just heard on Go Country that tickets go on sale Oct 24th at 8 am and he's playing for 3 nites! Omg, I am so there for that! I have never seen him but always wanted to!

I got tickets!!!!! opening weekend, (NFR weekend, too!! ) both shows on Saturday 12-12-09.!! 2 hours in the virtural waiting room this morning, but we got em.!!! I'll give a review after the show and then we'll plan the girls- (or group weekend). ( I figured after stagecoach anyway..) let me know if anyone else got tickets!! I am sooo excited!

There's been so many different rumors of a Garth return over the years...

I wouldn't believe it until I saw his pudgy butt flying over the crowd with his headset mic on.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is a Chris Gaines comeback!

ok... here's the scoop. amazing performance (s). We had our seats to both shows upgraded, 5th row for first show. This was Garth testing the waters and connecting with his fans. He was truely humbled by the audience. He played a tribute to his favorites, and honored the greats in the business- very moving. This was not a "concert" with the flashy band, black hat and cowboy boots. This was Garth entertaining his friends, almost like in his living room. He wore a baseball hat, sweatshirt, work boots and jeans. Nothing on stage but him, his guitar a chair and a bottle of water. BUT- he rocked that stage! His voice, his music, his stories, his life was out there for all of us. He took requests from a few of us. We were one of the "chosen few". We requested Belleau Woods and it choked him up. There was not a dry eye in the audience. If you want to see a different side of Garth.. this IS the show for you. So different from his Staples show last year. I was skeptical, almost like, show me you've still got it. He does, in a different way. No doubt a new respect for him.

Trisha came out and sang a few songs. ( My only request would be that if she is going to make an appearance an sing a few songs to choose a few others from her library. I'm tired of Walk away Joe and Tom and Katie. (?). )
