Ok, reply here if you plan on going on the tubing/camping extravaganza this August. You need to buy your camping ticket NOW. Make sure to say you're in group. For the bus tickets, my friend is gonna buy them, I just need to give her a head count TOMORROW and the money on MONDAY. I will be seeing most of you this weekend and you can give it to me then, otherwise you can paypal it to me and I will deliver to her.

Time to head up to Kelly's Beach for an awesome river trip and would love everyone to come!

Here's the deal for newbies: We drive up Friday...set up camp (don't worry they have a bar, bathrooms, showers, restaurant etc), lounge around...chill...then Saturday we take this rickity old crazy bus up the road for a quick 15 min. short cut up the river...then we float down all day...stopping on the side of the river at various beaches to hang out, eat our snacks, drink our beers etc...and we land right back at our waterfront campsite!

It's really easy to reserve your spot:
Just call (559) 638-3522 and add you and whomever else to the "Gigi" campsite. You have to pay with a credit card over the phone for the deposit ($15 per person) and then you'll pay the rest of the fee when you arrive. ($15 to camp per night, per person).

*The bus passes need to be purchased in June and as a group, so once everyone who is coming has signed up...we'll order them. The bus tickets are the only portion you'll have to give to me since I have to reserve the whole group.

I'm pretty darn sure they give you the tubes. Anywhere I've ever been tubing they supply them. Have you checked out the website? I haven't, but I'll go look. Almost positive they give you the tubes and the ones for your ice chests, etc...

Anyone have a waterproof ipod player? I'm gonna have to bring something like that, music is KEY!

Ok, yes, you rent your tubes there. I say it's totally pointless bringing your own. The tubes you rent you can easily tie together and float. All we need is some rope! Ok, a LOT of rope. You're not really "supposed" to tie them, but it's really the only way to do it, I promise. Also, everyone will need to bring an old sheet they don't mind ruining. You wrap it around your tube and it helps keep it cool, and gives you sort of a bottom to float in comfortably. It will get totally ruined though.

Good luck if you're planning on going to both, you're going to be exhausted Sunday night if you even make it back to LA in time. For those of you not going to the show, but going tubing, you'll have a blast. I've done it tons of times and it's so much fun.

Well ok, that raft is FREAKIN COOL! But not sure if you can fit it on the bus inflated (they stack the tubes up I think, unless the rental place is at the top of the hill, I have no clue at that place). You would need an electric pump, and then you could just throw it in your ice chest. Might work ok. And since Psycho isn't going, I call co-pilot!

when my kids were in high school. I started selling stuff on ebay. things I found at yard sales, around the house, on sale at stores.. camera's , kids books, toys. you name it. I made good money as a side job. why in the heck have you NOT sold his stuff? I'll get you started selling on ebay, you'll make money.
also, I wonder if you need the court to mandate child support be paid directly to you from his payroll. It went that way for me, and it eliminated lots of "delays".

I don't mind missing it and trying to sell my ticket, but I know a lot of you guys are goin to it. So I told her to TRY to get everyone for the July 30th weekend. anyone here ever done the whitewater rafting up on the upper cache river near sacramento? it's amazing fun. 2 days of rafting and a huge party after the first day at the campsite with bbq, drinking, music, etc. they say no alcohol but everyone was def. drinking the whole way down the river. self bailing rafts, too. everything is included for just $129...well, not including travel up there, but flights are cheap, guessing a rental car for the weekend is, too. haven't been for a few years, but may try to make it up this summer.

That does sound like fun. I hate camping, but I always enjoy myself when I get out there (as long as there are other people there that know what they're doing).

and the rapids are easy, nothing like the class 4 and 5's i had the "pleasure" of doing in switzerland. never have a kiwi as your river guide ;)

Not sure if I have the cajones for white water rafting, but hey, I'm typically up for anything. My sister's done it and I know people getting a trip together for this summer.

I'm going white water rafting next weekend over Memorial Day. It will be my third or fourth time going, definitely not an expert by any means. It's fun though, you should try.
