Where is Gretchen Wilson in May? I know she'll be at the Ventura County Fair in August. Where are Brad Paisley and Brooks and Dunn gonna be? I'm so bad/late at finding this stuff out!

All I have planned thus far is Josh Turner and Jake Owen at the Ventura County Fair (Aug 8, I believe) and possibly Gretchen Wilson at the same fair a couple days after the first.

I'm CRAZY bummed that I'm missing Keith Urban and Sugarland in July. I live/work in Michigan for 2 months out of the summer. This is why I missed Kenny a few summers back too.

There's a SLIGHT chance I'll see Brad in Detroit this summer, but that's only if our students want to go and need a chaperone...same with Rascal Flatts in Chicago -- they happen to be there during our weekend trip to Chi-town.

As far as I can see there is only a "citicard" presale that starts tomorrow at 10a.m. and goes through Friday. Regular sale starts on Saturday at 10a.m.

The instructions say you can be given a trial that will run over your one month session and you would have to serve but if you have a vacation scheduled during your session to let them know. So I called and they put it down. Crossing my fingers that my vacation doesn't get messed up!

I just throw them away. Unless they send it certified (they don't) there is absolutely no proof that you actually got it (things get lost in the mail all the time) and there's nothing they can do. I haven't gotten one in years, so I might do it now, but years ago there was no way I could afford to!

Really? That's great then! At most companies you have to use your time off (or can take unpaid leave) and then they only pay you, what, $10 a day or something ridiculous for jury duty?

Ummm...the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. And while Anaheim may not be the BEST place in the world, if we're talking about acutal cities and not counties, it beats the hell out of L.A. (Sorry in advance to all of you living in the CITY of LA). Crime, smog, transients, etc...far outnumber anything you'll find in Anaheim. And plus, Anaheim has Disneyland AND the Angels. The rest of the time it was an endless stream of people I've never heard of before (lesser known mafia members) going on and on and on forever. I remember after three hours we had enough and left. By that time most people had already cleared out but there was no end in sight.

It sucked because we were so excited to see B&R but that's not what it was.

But this fathers day will be hard. It marks the 10year anniversary of Doug's father passing away. June 21, 1999 day after Father's Day, that year. We were supposed to go but, mom doesn't seem to be up to it and I don't think I could find a sitter for mom on such short notice. So I will do my best to keep Doug in good spirits that day.

I just went on the Fair website and figured out that I just got about $300+ worth of tickets!!!

Kelly's tix start at $30 each and the David's tix are $24 each....the accountant in me started multiplying and adding....

Sorry, I should have specified that the show is here in Michigan. I'm not too excited about Big and Rich, but I am for Craig Morgan. I missed him at SC last year because I wanted to see John Fogerty and The Eagles.

Let's hope my students actually want to go to the Big and Rich show this weekend! Otherwise I'm pushing for the Incubus show. Def Leppard with Poison and Cheap Trick is here too, but the cheapest ticket is $80 before fees!

So the game last night was freaking awesome. It's being compared to the Gibson World Series home run (a stretch I think).

If you haven't heard, Manny got hit by a pitch and was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday. He wasn't even in the lineup on his bobblehead night. But in the sixth inning with the score tied and the bases loaded he came up to pinch hit for the pitcher and hit the first pitch he saw into Mannywood for a grand slam.

Then there was pandemonium. Vin Scully said it was the loudest he's heard it at Dodger Stadium in 20 years. It was just awesome. Sooooo glad I went! No concert I go to this summer will be able to match this experience!
