My friend and I attended the concert on Sunday only, and both ate the same things. We both woke up this morning with horrible stomach issues (if you know what I mean) which have lasted all day. Anyone else in the same boat? We are trying to figure out what may have caused it.

What were your symptoms?

What did you eat? I had about 30 pounds of bbq, that fried bread stuff (awesome), and approximately a keg of beer with no problems.

TONS of bbq, both days....not one "issue."

*thankful*

We had BBQ sandwiches with baked beans & coleslaw, beer, a churro, and split a funnel cake. It has to be something we ate there since we both had the same symptoms at the same time (the big D) which have lasted ALL DAY!

coleslaw = mayo

Never good on a hot day...PERIOD. On or in anything.

I got so irritated when I stood in line for what seemed like forever, got some chicken strips and fries, walked back to my seat to eat and all three strips were RAW...PINK inside!!!! GROSS!!! Walked back and the lady tried to tell me I must have bought them from another vendor!!! and what did security have to say about it.." Uhhhhh" ya, that's the response I got.

Have to agree with no mayo products on a hot day post....we ate lots of BBQ, funnel cake, chicken strips and fries (our chicken was HOT and cooked, the fries were barely browned....but still yummy!), a couple of gallons of water, at least a gallon of lemonade slushie stuff....and no problems here ;)

Interesting. My family that has tummy trouble issues after Stagecoach. My poor daughter was awake (and therefore, I was awake) throwing up Sunday night. I figured too much junk food. I felt queasy last night myself. But it never got progressed into anything. And no, I wasn't drinking (other than water and frozen lemonades.) ;):p

OOPS. Man, I made a lot of grammar mistakes on my previous post. I guess I was editing what I wrote, and didn't double check the outcome. Maybe I can just blame it on the sleep deprivation. =P

You guys are probably totally right about the mayo in the coleslaw. I guess I gave the food vendors too much credit, not thinking that they might be poisoning people!!! Just thought I would check to see if anyone else was having problems too.

I loved the Chinese Chicken Salad Wrap. However, I didn't feel so great after eating the chicken strips on Sunday night. But I don't think it was food poisoning...

you probably have what is commonly referred to as the "coachella flu", except a week later it is the "stagecoach flu". a major factor is all the dust you are breathing in over the weekend. there is nasty shit in that stuff, literally, those are polo fields remember. add into that partying, lack of sleep, etc. and your body is not a wonderland.

a good way to combat that for next year is some airborne or emergen-c and lots of saline nasal spray..

Yes...Lots of flu going around here with the symtoms many are mentioning and nothing to do with food.....
It is full blown allergy season right now in the desert.I can bearly peel my eyes open each morning and had that intestinal ful last week or so.....:(

Hope you all feel better soon.:)

One suggestion from a veteran allergy victim....Drink lots of clear fluids to clear the allergens from your system.

Sounds almost like the "diet" I had over the weekend.... :D

Not feeling great today - but nothing having to do with the food.... A little sunburnt, hurts to talk....other than that - feelin' good!

Ugh, sunburn does not even begin to describe the pain my shoulders are currently in. I haven't been able to wear a shirt since I got home and I keep getting woken up by the pain of rolling over on my back.

i was wondering the same thing (about food poisoning). i've been sick for 2 days. just had the corn and strawberry lemonade. finally starting to feel better and keep food down.

KittyLeigh
04-28-2009, 03:31 PM
I wonder if it was the heat that got to people and made them sick? I can't imagine corn and strawberry lemonade having that kind those kind of results? :( Meat that's been out too long, maybe. Coleslaw or sandwiches with something with mayo....maybe...

Hope everyone feels better!

they totally weren't there this year. last year they were fabulous! i kept looking around with no sign of them - can we do anything to get them back?!?!?!?!? :D

KittyLeigh
04-28-2009, 05:02 PM
I know! I'd have thought that the constant long line at their stand last year would've made them wanna come back!?

WestCoastLady
04-28-2009, 05:11 PM
Texas Tornados - I emailed them and "Mom" from Texas wrote me back saying that the people that were there last year were a franchise and she would forward my comments to them....

I think I deleted the e-mail - but maybe we can "petition" GoldenVoice to bring them back ;)

LOL --- I do too!!!

I didn't get hit on nearly enough to get laid. The only real opportunity thrown at me was a really cute cowboy in town from Vail with his girlfriend. After he introduced us, he apparently wanted some action, but I didn't feel up to a "three way chat" even with Brad's inspiration....so I passed.

So so so disappointing to hear.

You should never pass up an opportunity to have a three way chat!

I gotta say this................unless there's a TON more reported incidents from this location, chances are whatever made you sick WAS NOT from the food vendors. Out of the hunderds and thousands of people they served over the weekend many more folks would have gotten sick of there was any food born bacteria floating around.

More than likely, you and your friend shared something else, un-knowingly, like a dirty door handle from an outhouse or something along these lines.

I'm not defending the food vendor, I'm just saying that unless we hear of a lot more cases like yours, it's probably not "food poisoning" per se.

Hope you're feeling better

So far I'm doing o.k.

HonkeyTonk was sweet enough to share with me and I felt really sick yesterday but much better today so I'm thinking mine was SC flu.

HonkeyTonk was down on Sunday. I even mentioned the swine flu while were we visiting the forum and hearing news reports about it. We were all too busy at a concert/party to pay attention to the news.

I did but it was on the way out of the concert Saturday night.

I couldn't hang out after hours because I had to ride back to the hotel with my friends. I could've hung out during the day on Sunday and before the concert started but I couldn't connect with anyone. IHML and KL were already into GA by noon and I tried to connect with Chev but she didn't get back to me with where y'all were hanging out.
