View Full Version : POSITIVE suggestions for SC 2010

So I've given myself a headache ranting and raving about this past weekend. The past is the past, so let's help GOLDENVOICE plan for a BETTER SC 2010!!!
Let's keep this positive and realistic.......
I'd like to see a designated beer garden with no alcohol allowed to leave a designated area. I think it will help with the whole trash situation too (man was there a lot this year). Even if it is the whole right side of the Polo fields..... I think it would help mellow it out for the other half.

Maybe they could limit the amount of alocohol people consume. A lot of venues have a limit on how many you can purchase in a day. I know that would be a tough rule to impose but it would help with the trash, the vomiting (my sister was vomited on), and the passed out people in the walkways!!!
All in all, what a wonderful event. I hope the actions of a few don't spoil things for the majority!

I hear ya ......If there was a fenced beer garden, a limit might be posible. I've been to other events where they punch your braclet for a limited number of drinks and they only ID'd and gave braclets for a limited time....I think they stopped at like 5pm (so people couldn't rip off the old one and get a new one)

My positive suggestions: more porta-potties, a designated "family" general admission area, consistent security procedures, "mister" tent, parking shuttle (even for a fee).....
Loved the layaway option for the tickets! And the reasonably priced tickets!!

My suggestion would be to mail the wristbands (camping & VIP) with your tickets. The line for the VIP wristbands was ridiculous & on Sunday they ran out of the wristbands for our VIP section. It was horrible trying to get to our seats with the wrong wristbands.
I really appreciate the revamping of the reservered section entrances for Sunday nights concert. It was really hard to get in & out of VIP on Saturday. I also loved the layaway option for tickets too! Having that option made it possible for my husband and I to camp in El Dorado I & sit in reservered seating. The security guards in my section of Sec 1 were awesome! :)

I think they need to do away with soooo many vip braclets. Camping ok....ID check OK VIP ok......but vip is not even VIP. There are like 10 different VIP levels....it's crazy!!! They should mail them out for campers to help cut down on the line situation.

I think they need to limit the GA tickets and should have a quota of security enforced per amount of tickets sold.
No acess VIP area from the standard beer gardens ....
Olny a VIP area for persons who have seats...
Walkie talkies on security directly to goldenvoice for security issues and acsess changes....
Posted changes on a eltronic board for all to see......
Keep it all country artist or bluegrass or cowboy music...
If mixed music keep that to friday only....
Family only area...
No blankets or chairs unless in family or over 50 area....
Drunks to be removed from the grounds by security....Yes.....
Reserved grass area's for groups more then three.....
No smoking allowed on the grounds...(Love my burnt chair)
Any bad attitude's removed by security....
Bathroom monitors for the sex children that have no money for a room.....
Wrist bands that glow in the dark for VIP section....
Chair move up fee for open seats not sold....Or a rewards card for person who is a yearly seat purchaser....
More then two entrance locations to really check bags...
Oh yes shut down the stages if fire lanes are compermised...Re start when they all move....lol

Can I get an Amen... and a Hallelujah!!!
IT SUCKS having that P1 premium section EMPTY. In a perfect world.. the real fans should be allowed to move down... even just for a little while. We were one section over in 4, and would have loooooved to jump front and center for Zac Brown Band to cheer them on, and return to our section after they were done. I realize this would be completely unmanageable, but a girl can dream.
Once again that white tented VIP area was ridiculously packed. VIP = EIP.
HOWEVER... The new VIP section to the right of the stage was PRICELESS!! Not sure if there was a different wristband required, or just not as popular as the bigger area by concessions... but it was NICE. Not too crowded, easy to get in, get a drink and/or go potty, and out and back to your seat without missing a thing. That made a HUGE difference.
Oh... and I can't forget to say THANK YOU!!!! for having clearly marked walkways.
I would suggest a Cooter meet n' greet.
Sign me up!

We had an amazing time, so these are just suggestions. I would say on my wife's behalf there should be a few more shower trailers, she waited about 3 hours to use it and didn't really mind that much, but I think that more would have been a little better. I also agree with what someone had said in an earlier post about being mailed the wristbands, in addition to that that, I almost think that we should get mailed a lanyard of some sort that is our weekend ticket, so we dont have to worry about carrying around a piece of paper for every event.

Oh God, those shower lines were so bad that I just snuck into the men's! I was quiet but then another girl came in and we were all just talking. The owner didn't seem to like it to much when he came in and saw me fully dressed though. Oh well, I needed to be clean!

I waited until the evening because there was no waiting at all. I had the whole trailer to myself on Saturday night. It felt soooooo good.

I went Saturday night RIGHT after the show. The lines were still long, but the men only had one or two people trickling in and out, so I took advantage.

Yes please please please more showers in the forum!!!!!!
AND I know this is a stretch but the forum camping was very close to the palamino stage . . . so maybe a separate entrance for campers :0)

Anyone have an "in" with mother nature? Could we request less wind like Saturday next year....and a slight breeze in the HEAT like Sunday? All the wind doesn't have to come in one day!! :)

Thats a good idea on the seperate entrance!
None of us never waited in a line in the RV area's...in and out..so guess they would need more if you were waiting 3 hrs!!
I did not like how they shut down from certain hours!!

I felt so bad that she waited that long, but she didn't seem to mind that much, and she said saw a few girls sneak in, but she was too close at that point. We will be back next year, more showers or not though!!

I thought the festival itself was pretty flawless, maybe raise the screens up so we could see in the back.
As for the security and parking staff... It seemed to me this was the biggest room for improvement. The first couple days nobody who worked there knew anything! (and i mean ANYTHING) The first security gaurd i came into contact with didnt even know what direction the festival was let alone the entry gate. He was like the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz, pointing in both directions. Maybe have an informative meeting with the staff prior to letting them loose, or giving them a printout with a map to keep in their pocked with some FAQ with answers so they seem slightly informed.

Love Stagecoach!!!....Would Definately Educate Staff/Security More To Maintain Consistency and Limit GA Ticket Sales For Safety Purposes. Sunday's Attendance Was CRAZY!!!
