So I know that in the FAQ it says NO SLRs/DSLs, but how strict are they on the situation?

If it has a changable/removable lens it's not allowed. That's what I remember from last year....

The thing is that they make cameras now with out a removable lens that are just as good as the ones with a removable lens... Doesn't make sense to ban DSLRs anymore.

Yeah thats what I am saying... I have a normal Point and Shoot also, and it has all of the same functions and features as my DSLR, and it is also higher resolution... I dont understand why they would allow that camera to come in but not my DSLR... oh well

where could you get a photo band? and how much? I am by no means a pro (yet) but I really like having the ability to do some really sweet stuff with my cameras... does the photo band give any other perks (closer to stage etc) besides the obvious camera rights?

You would have to of aplied thru the media of Goldenvoice or work for a band or Goldenvoice...
They are very strict and like to see photographers that are published.
You have access to the media pit in frt of the stage during the first three songs depending on the artist...
They can not be bought (Photo bands) sorry...
Exchangeable lens is a concern when you are far back for great shots to sell for a sharp photo.
Also at night with a 2.8 large lens is your best bet.
If you have seats close up and a standard digital you would be good to go....:D
Late at night mannual is best and no flash for the best color...
Thats why you need great glass....

This is true... oh well i guess i will need to start getting published soon if i want to get one for next year... the media pit would be an awesome view, and can come with some remarkable photo ops... and I am lucky my P&S is a 12.2 MP Nikon with possibly the best zoom I have ever used... I guess we will see when the pics are uploaded...

I dunno, I find that when beer is involved that its handy to have a camera nearby. The pictures in my camera are alot clearer than the ones in my head when beer is around.
