Ok-
any tips on how to get alcohol into concert?
And how thorough do they check you at enrance and at campsite?
Can you stash them in fold up chairs, we have not done this before.

they search your chairs, that trick only worked the first year..and first day of last year. If you have any girls going with you, get the pocket shots and have them store them..in there pants or bra's...other than that its pretty tough. ice chests with a lot of unopened water bottles and maybe some there in between[not on top] some with vodka?...other than that..my suggestion is to get a superrrr good buzz prior to!

CAN YOU BRING CHESTS INTO CONCERT?
WHAT ABOUT PUTTING THE FIFTHS INSIDE YOUR TENT OR CHAIRS AS YOU ENTER CAMPSITE? HOW THOROUGH IS THAT CHECK?
AND DO THEY HAVE CASH MACHINES THERE, ON SITE?

No coolers in concert venue.
For camping, be discrete and don't flaunt it. Red cups rule.
This is from the FAQ tab on the main festival page:
Will there be ATM machines?
Yes, both inside and outside the venue grounds plus clearly marked on the festival guide.

No, once your in your campsite your fine. Just make sure any alcohol is in red cups where ever you go. Red cups are fine. As long as your arent carrying a bud light around they normally wont say anything unless your making it very well known whats in YOUR red cup!Atm machines are in and out...however i think there is a charge, so try and get cash before hand.

Strunkas-
so, bury the alcohol in cooler? can't they see the beer cans? or put it in the tent? How expensive are drinks in venure? And can you get a flask in? I was told you can go back to campsite from concert and then go back to concert correct? And they have no problems with seeing you bring red cups in? SOrry for soooooooooo many questions, we just have not done this before.

no no, normally they dont check your ice chests. So as long as your arent carrying 36 packs in and its just put away in ice chest you should be fine regardless of where in the ice chest top of bottom. I MEANT if you take anything into actual concert....like water bottles in a backpack..maybe bring several and MAYBE one of them not sealed or almost sealed with vodka in it...so they cant tell...or if you are bringing girls have them stuff anything they can in the bras, or pants...yes you can go back and forth but they make you get rid of your drinks before entering concert. They mainly ONLY want you to buy there alcohol from the beer garden im not positive on drinks...I wanna say like $ 9.00-$13.00?

yeah they use to allow you to bring it, like you werent suppose to but i think they let is slide a lot last year. and yes they pat men down more so than women...i dont know if they do women at all. red cups are red cups. pack them poor your drink when your gonna drink in them and waa lah. they dont care about red cups..because if they went to every person and asked what was in there red cup..NO one would be left at stagecoach. they know people are going to drink...they just HAVE to say it because its the rules..and can say well we said it if it ever came down to it

My understanding is no outside food or beverages. I've tried to e-mail GoldenVoice about the water program with poor response...they will be selling refillable water bottles inside ($10 for the bottle with either free or $1 refills of filtered ice cold water from what I've read here).
I think the basic rule is be discrete and don't flaunt it. But, hey, I'm a newbie, too ~ just have spent A LOT of time on these boards!!!

We were never even searched going into the campgrounds last year. They thoroughly searched our backpacks going into the venue. So hide stuff well. They let us bring in unopened bottles of water, but I think it just depended on which line you went through.

Thanks to both of you.
Yeah Goldenvoice sucks, they dont answer calls or respond to our emails.
I was thinking if we packed a back pack with water bottles and one was with vodka, do they open all of them?

It really depends on which line you were in. Our line let us through with the water but made us dump our red bulls. I put plastic flasks in my cargo pants pockets and no one searched me.

Where would you get a plastic flask? We thought about buying some plastic bottles/travel type to put our alcohol in, in the coolers, but if they don't search at campsites, you don't think this is necessary? They don't check for fifths?
You gals are great with all the answers.
You gals should stop by, we are in the forum campsite, we will has a burgundy Washington State Flag, we will make you a drink!!

Strunkas
04-23-2009, 08:17 AM
they dont search your campsites. plastic flaskkkk...i dont know on that one..just be cautious going in observe which line checkers are more strict and DONT go in that line. they dont open your water bottles, they check to see if there sealed..if you can make them look like they arent, your goooood to go.=]

I have a quick question - does anyone know if there will be a temporary bar/sitting area with shade set up prior to check-in/gates opening since the Cantina burned down a few months ago?
WestCoastLady
04-23-2009, 08:22 AM
Yes on the ice - I think someone said it was $5-8 a bag, tho. You may want to get some dry ice to put in your cooler - to supplement the regular bagged stuff....

From the website it appears that we can check in at 6 am on Sat.
How far is a local store to get ice and is getting in and out of campsite parking difficult?
