Supposedly all the Gold Circle VIP tickets were sold out long ago. Except for the ones the brokers have at unfair high prices. Then I get an E-mail from the Stagecoach Festival about some auction for front row Gold circle seats? Did anyone else get this E-mail?The bidding starts at $510.00 a seat for a two seat package. Which is around face value. There are 13 packages available (26) seats! By the time this auction is over, these coveted seats will cost MUCH more than "face value". Sorry to those who should have access to these seats from the outset (including me). I know there were a lot of people who wanted to and tried to buy them from day one, but were told they were sold out? Now you will have to pay exorbitant prices for them. The ticket brokers aren't the only ones taking advantage of the consumer. Very disappointing "Stagecoach festival".

Hmm... I haven't seen that e-mail from the Festival yet. But I do know this is becoming common practice w/ TicketMaster venues -- for many (most?) concerts, the first several rows are "held back" and auctioned off through TicketMaster, thus taking those seats from "difficult to obtain at face value" to "no longer available at face value at any point or under any circumstances." Supply and demand at its finest, I guess...

If you go to the Stagecoach main page. There is a picture of George Strait on the right side of the page. Click on it and it will take you to the Ticketmaster auction page for the Gold Circle seats. It will be interesting to see just how much they get for these seats. You have to bid in $30.00 increments, so I assume you can follow the highest bid as the auction proceeds.

Hmmm, I wonder if this falls under the catagory of false (reporting)advertising "all Gold Circle VIP tickets have been sold"?

Gold Circle VIP tickets were sold, all but front row maybe?

Guess the lucky ones will be sitting in the following rows, and those that can afford the auction will be sitting up front, sure would be funny if they were left empty............

That's sp ridiculous! because we've obviously already bought our tickets because we wanted to get the best possible and now they're giving away the front row!! The tickets should ALL be open to buy to EVERYONE for resonable prices! not where you have to type in a password or anything for the best ones...urg:mad:

That wouldn't be the first time that's happend at a show. Would serve them right. But I'm sure somebody will come along and bid. Maybe if they don't sell in the auction they'll go back on Ticketmaster - I've gotten front row that way before right before the event.

This seems to be a very popular event. I can't see the tickets not selling. It would be much more pallet-able if these front row tickets were put in a lottery system, and then offered to the winners at face value. But to have an auction that is sure to drive the price way above most peoples ability to pay is unethical in my opinion. I know people who took the day off work to try and buy Gold Circle the day they were available, and were shut out. I'm sure once they get word of this slight of hand with Gold Circle front row seats they will be devastated.

Promoters and Artists are just trying to get fair market value on the 'best' seats...They are the ones who either take the risk or create the value - They are just trying to beat the scalpers at their own game - and it happens in almost all markets. You can go to any number of sites and find aftermarket sale of the Gold and VIP tix's at prices over face. Holding back a few % of total seats is minor IMO. It is a free market -

I sure tried to buy a pair at the pre sale, right away, no luck. Where did they all go?

You guys understand how the auction works right? You don't have to outbid the current high bid unless Ticketmaster prompts you to since there are 13 pairs.

This bidding for front row seats is all very interesting considering the promotor assured me some time ago (I still have the e-mail) that they did not withold ANY Gold Circle tickets. What does this tell you?

and they are not withheld, they are on sale now, to the public.

Do you mean the auction? It's just too bad that auction wasn't announced before people spent $2000 for tickets from third parties.

I'm seriously having second thoughts about going at all. Seems like a bunch of BS going on.

Countrygurl,
What is the differance between the 3rd party sellers charging double face value for gold circle seats and Goldenvoice auctioning them to the highest bidder. The promoter of the concert has become the scalper. How can you bash the people on EBAY selling them for so much when your company is doing the same thing ?

now try to pay attention!!! THE BIDDERS are the ones driving up the prices...so if you want to bitch and moan, do it to the people willing to pay that much for a ticket.
