I have never been to SC before and know little to nothing about country music, but my husband loves it. So being the wonderful wife that I am, I purchased tickets and a room for two nights at a resort in Palm Springs for his birthday.
Obviously, I want to take a bit of advantage to staying at the resort, (tanning and a massage) what time would be the best to get there?
I see that the gates open at noon, but what time to the shows really get going?
In other words, I do not want my husband to miss anything but, I really need a bit of poolside time!
If we got there at 4:00 Saturday and Sunday what would we miss?
Thanks,
Jen

Gates do open at 12 noon but the music doesn't start until about 2pm if i'm not mistaken. If you get there at 4pm you would miss all of the artists that open up the show. Keep in mind there is more than one stage. Once the set schedule comes out next week, you can decide whether or not it's worth missing them or not. Hope this helps:)
We should get the set times Tuesday or Wednesday. Last year the first artist on Saturday went on at 12:35 and on Sunday it was 2:00.

Do You Have Reserved Seats or GA??? You Would Be Crazy Not To Get There When The Gates Open If You Have GA. The Lawn Fills Up Fast!!! And Rose Is Right...Saturday Concerts Started Shortly After The Gates Opened. It Would Be A Waste Not To See As Many Acts As You Can :)

Thank you both so much for getting back to me. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun and I am hungry just thinking about the bbq! Now will they have crafts, clothing and jewelry exhibits?

I think we will enjoy it! The pictures look fun and if the people on this board are like the rest of the folks there.....bound to be a good time!
I have been listening to country music trying to gear up! I am an Italian girl from New York....not a huge country music area! He a little bit country....I'm a little bit rock n roll!

Well,
If you get in early and close up you will never find your seats when it gets dark...
I say enjoy your day tan out relax on saturday .Some years we never get there till the sun starts setting.Trust me lots of grass further back and lots more elbow room not to mention drunks tripping all over you.. ) and....(You can always walk up to the other stages...
Then you can see everything on the big screens ...
Then take sunday as your getting in early BBQ day. That way your husband enjoys it all and you also get time for pampering...
Everyone wins...
Unless there is a special group he wants to see...Then work your schedule around that...;)
