If you are camping in an RV or a Tent, be careful. Last year our RV was broken into on the first day of the concert (fri). They busted through the bathroom fan and stole everything, clothes, money, ipods, laptop, shoes, purses etc. There are a lot of people walking around and although they check for wristbands people get into the RV lots that shouldn't be there. It will be 100x worse if you end up parking your RV in a lot were there is a lot of car parking as well= many passing drunks.
Last year we paid for a spot in the El Dorado 1 lot and when we got there early Friday Morning they said the lot was full. (ppl parked in multiple spaces and other reasons) They made us park in a different lot and of course we were broken into.
Advice:
1)Get there early, to get the correct parking. Thursday morning, Wednesday night even.
2)Do not bring anything valuable with you. Even to keep in the RV, Car or Tent. Leave your Ipods, nice purses and expensive shoes/clothes etc at home. You never know what will happen.
3) Your often walking long distances through dirt and mud, be prepared.
4) DO NOT talk to the people scalping tickets or those desperate for a ticket. There will be a lot out there and they may be looking for someone to steal from. (we thought we made a friend, gave him our extra ticket FOR FREE, and that is who we think broke into the RV)
5) make sure the people around you know who you are, our neighbors saw someone breaking in but thought he was with our group and forgot a key...IDIOTS
Its a fun event but all big events like this attract bad people as well as good, so BE CAREFUL! Needless to say we will not be going back.
