Miss B...a bunch of us are going to the Jackalope on Friday (hwy111) if you and your mom would like to join us for a pre-stagecoach party. I understand 1/2 off on drinks and appetizers for happy hour.

I'll PM you my cell phone number. P.S. I've never been there so I can't tell you how good the food is or not but the peeps that are going are super sweet and fun.

Is the restaurant kid-friendly? My boy is used to hangin' with adults (and behaving!) but don't want to do the drive from Palm Springs if it's adults-only or in the bar area....

That is, if I'm invited...??

(How's that for fishing for an invitation?)

You don't have to fish. Just say 'Count me in!'

Everybody is welcome. Peeps who RV or tenting at SC will probably not leave the grounds once they are there. I'm in a hotel and don't want to sit there by myself on Friday. Last year went to Neils and had a BLAST. This year it's burn't up so Jackalope was suggested as the Pre-SC party.

WestCoastLady...we can hook your 11 year old up with a fake I.D.:D. Just kidding. Sounds like he can hang with all us old folks.

thanks for the link IHML.

that's what i figured too. if we were gonna be camping then i wouldn't leave the grounds either but just because we're staying on a hotel doesn't mean we want to be cooped up in a hotel room. I'm sure we'll have a blast. it'll be good to finally get the stagecoach party going! :)

Thanks, IHML. Reviews are very interesting to read ~ very mixed. The website says "no" to kids.....but the reviews seem to be mixed on the subject :) Since it seems to be a bit pricey with no kid's menu, I think we'll pass and save our money for SC goodies!

Like with anything, you will find good and bad reviews. I just like reading yelp reviews. Gives you a good idea of what to expect. If your son can hang at SC, I'm sure he can survive the Jacalope! I am still debating on whether I want to leave the campground or not. I'll probably be too happy with my jello shots to leave!

I'm there since I'm a hotel geek, too. So where do we meet at the Jackalope? The indoor Saloon or the outdoor Palapa Bar?

How about The Hog's Breath in Old Town La Quinta. Own by the one and only Clint Eastwood! Nice area and shopping.

My office is right across from them...or should I say WAS.....I am moving on to bigger and better things.

This is a very nice area, a couple of other nice restaurants there too. Make reservations! Also, for good times, pizza, try Stuft Pizza in the same center. Awesome asian spicy chicken pizza, they have pastas, salads etc...but atmosphere is like a wine bar. Classy and fun. Golfers hang out there after theie games.

A good breakfast place is Sloanes. It is on hwy 111 in Indio. great family restaurant and food! Prices are awesome!! Lines may get long in am's but worth the wait. Homestyle cooking.

I will try to think of more.

Well they are very pricey in the resturant something like 100.00 for three for dinner.

Yet they have an outside area that fills quickley and I can almost bet they have a kids menu in the out side bar.The Big 106.1 says they will have a family fun party. You might want to check the radio stations site.
Other option Red Robin is very kid friendly and on Hwy 111 in La Quinta.:)
