Maybe I'm blind but last week on the Stagecoach website I thought I read that there will be no In and Outs except for people that have their RV's there. I'm 63 and resent being treated like I am in Junior high School, I cant find any reference to it now - does anybody know if this "Rule" still applies?
TIA.

You can only go in and out of the festival if you are camping in the forum or the RV areas.

From the FAQ page....

* Doors open at Noon both days. Show ends before midnight both days.
* Box-office opens 6am Thu/Fri and 8am Sat/Sun weekend of show.
* NO Ins & Outs (onsite campers ok)
* Rain or Shine
* Festival Parking is free
* Parking lots open at 9am all days
* Line up and set times subject to change
* Everyone subject to search upon entry
* Food/Beverage & other items are sold at the venue for CASH only
* Tickets to be picked up at will call / box-office require matching I.D.

Should I Assume Your Not Camping?? Why Would You Want To Go In and Out If Your Not Camping or Dont Have An RV There??

There are no in/outs unless you are doing onsite camping. If you go to the 'event info' tab and click on 'rules/faq', it's on that page.

We are renting a home in Palm Springs and if we get to the festival at noon, staying there for 12 hour in a row is a bit much, we had envisioned being there for a few hours, going back to the house catch a swim and a sandwich, a little rest, and come back for the evening.

That wouldn't be very feasible. The parking is a fairly long walk from the entrance. The wait times to find parking get longer the closer you get to the evening performers.

You will be able to relax in the shaded areas. When you come in, if you don't have reserved seating, go pick a spot under the shade tent first thing. That way you can roam the festival and come back anytime you need to sit down or cool down. Even in the worst heat of the day, those shaded areas are comfortable.

No one bothers your stuff. We watch out for each other at this festival. It's a great group of people. :D

You would not believe how fast 12 hours go.

I couldn't even begin to imagine the energy and time it would take to go and come back.

P.S. Welcome to Junior High :D

Rose,

You're a stinker. You're also right. Way too much effort involved and it goes by SO FAST!

I don't really see you being able to do that even if there were in/outs. Just the walk back to your car, 20 min, getting out of the lot 15 min, driving to PS 30 min and then the time eating/swimming...and then back again..Your talking at least 4 hours you would miss of the festival.

You might as well not go to SC! You would miss all the acts. Just doesnt make sense. Once you are there at say 12-1pm...and walk around, watch a few acts, it will be evening. Traffic will SUCK!! ..Just stay put.

Palm springs is NOT close to the venue in way of traffic/signals. My dad lives two blocks and I would not even consider going that close for a quick swim.

Really, only ins/outs are for medical necessity.

12 hours really does fly by! If I left at any point I would miss something fun. The walk to the campground was insane, let alone going all the way back to Palm Springs. I agree with Kymery, you might as well not go if you plan on leaving for that long.

Yes, you can buy a camping wristband for in & out priv's. You can decide if you want to try to leave & return. I'll have a couple extra for sell, they are part of our camping packages. I sent you a PM. That's how you get in & out. It sounds like alot of trouble, but you can make that decision. See ya there!!

:rolleyes: This reminds me of my ex - him and his best friend would order 10x10's and make a competition out of it. It would gross me out to watch them consume that much burger! Almost as much as taking shots of syrup at Denny's in the middle of the night. *shakes head* haha

Haha - sorry. ;)

I was talking to my sister about SC and what we need to pack in our backpacks for the festival. I guess she wasn't quite expecting so much. I told her "It's 12 hours!" She was like "whooooa".

Even being an SC virgin - I can't even imagine leaving for any amount of time to miss anything! That'd be nuts!

It does seem to mount up quickly, doesn't it? Even pared down this year, my pile of stuff looks huge.

Yes! My stacks are really starting to grow!! But I'm making sure to not get crazy...I don't want to have to carry around a 50 lb backpack for 12 hours! I'll die!

Into the venue?

Camera, spare batteries, pain reliever, bandana, chair or blanket to sit on, sunscreen, medications, first aid, basically nothing to eat or drink. No professional cameras or ones with a removable lens. The 'rules' show you which chairs are acceptable.

You have to buy all food/drinks inside unless you successfully sneak it in. No umbrellas.

Check the 'What to bring' thread on the board. I've got a running list there.

Hope this helps.:)
