Not good tonight. the song choices were poor, the singing was, yep, "pitchy". I know it's early, but no one seems to jump out as a clear winner. I'm hoping next week will be better or I may have to rethink my activities on Wednesday night.

I must say - the Nick/Norman guy cracks me up. I don't know that AI is the stage for him (I actually agree with something Paula said??? WHAT??? I usually just fast foward her ramblings) - but he's awesome in such a weird and crazy and stupid way.

I liked the same ones IHML mentioned...No clue who's gonna make it through this week! I was happy with last weeks results though - have a little crush on both the boys that made it through! :)

So true! I do like him in a weird / stupid way....but not for American Idol! I was really hoping he'd prove that he deserved to stay there by singing as HIMSELF - because it seems like he might actually be able to sing!!?? I really don't want to see him in the top 12 - especially if he's going to do it as "Norman" - that would just be dumb!

I'm with you Kymery! Adam rocked the competition last nite!! I also liked the 16 year old girl #5, she has a great voice. Other than those two nobody really stood out, except the girl who said her little dance move called the corchoran??? That move was so bad. They almost all picked really bad songs to do.

The dancing was weird but I liked her voice and I think she's pretty. Heck, it was her first time up there and she did a lot better than most of them! It'll be interesting to see who America voted for tonight. I can't really complain since I didn't even vote.

I can see the transformation from auditions and now trying to become performers.. hair, clothing, song choices. Again, there are young contestants this season. I like seeing how they improve-change each week. Still can't put my finger on one contestant that stands out as the new idol.

Interesting new twist. I think it will be to their advantage closer to the end when a judge favorite may not get the fan votes. Interesting how abrupt they were when giving them the ax last night, but in the auditions the judges seemed to gush over their talent.

One the whole final part of the season..so I am sure they will save that one "save" till the end...orrrr...if say Kris or Adam get voted off, they would save either one of them lost likely.

Not one per contestant. So they have to save that card for when they really think it should be played.

Actually, I kinda..kinda liked it. I am not a fan of hers as it is, my husband likes her and he fell asleep during it saying it was a boring song (but he sleeps thru anything!!) Catchy song...love the lyrics.

yes, he sure was. Just reminded me how much I do like his music. He was very kind to all the performers and giving them helpful suggestions. I laughed when Randy Travis commented on Adam's nail polish!!! Adam has a huge fan base. He will do well. But like the judges questioned the song choices of the other contestants, I just wish he didn't do that wierd version of a good song. Could it be that the contestants are not familiar with Randy Travis' music?

Okay, country is my genre, but, I'm also an old rocker chick...sooooo, man I LOVED Adam's Ring of Fire. NO, it wasn't country, he only had to choose a country song, not sing it country. He did an awesome job on that song, hit his notes, he's amazing! That was the most interesting version I've ever heard. KC I agree with a lot of what you are saying. I missed the show, but watched it back on videos. I liked Adam's version...not familiar to many, but I really liked it. Randy mention it was a version most wouldn't know and liked it. Just too bad that most wouldn't know it. But he did an awesome job! Doug had to re-watch and then he also changed his mind. He hit the notes and pulled it off. Not your Disneyland, pop, everyday singer, so you have to listen to him and appreciate what he does different.

Now...Brad...did you have your earpiece working...he sounded strange...like he couldn't hit some notes. I wasn't familiar with the song...loved the lyrics and what happy, happy that he didn't sing about bugs;)

I agree, the oil rig dude should of gone. I like him, like his singer, but he needs to refine it. I knew they wouldn't save Alexis, they only have one save and they know they need to save that for later in the comp. She sang her last song horrible...not sure if she was crying...or what...but wow I felt bad for her.

I know!!! I read that whole "mole" theory too about the top 4. Well, last night changed that with Alexis gone. hmmmm.. I have wondered if the show was pre determined, but.. really?

I also learned that those performances (like David Cook's and the one with Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis) were recorded way before the actual show that they aired them on and that the people in the crowds like just watch the video of it or something. :(

i got through the show in 15 min forwarding through everything...im so happy megan is gone...she was extra horrible tuesday and while i think her voice can be cool...definitely NOT the songs shes been singing...and i agree what was up with that attitude...loved it that simon got the last word when he said "you said you dont care well niether do we" or something like that when ryan asked if they were going to consider saving her..i felt stupid for her....i also hated that Allison was in the bottom 3 again...i think her voice is so good and its like judges purposely dont give her enough credit. I've followed AI religiously since season two but already get my AI fix from another group so I haven't posted in this thread. My enthusiasm for AI has been sinking but it hit an all-time low this week.

For the majority of you who watch Idol after recording it you may be wondering who ate Adam Lambert. Idol went waaaaaay over tonight which means most people didn't see the last performance -- Adam.

By the time this aired on the west coast Fox was well aware that the show ran long. They could have cut some commercials out so the people with DVRs and VCRs could get the whole show but instead they decided to screw their viewers. Even if you were watching live and had the opportunity to watch Adam it could mean that you were forced to miss the opening of another show.

And I've totally lost touch with reality if the judges are to be trusted. I really liked Scott and I hated Adam this week, which is total opposite of the judges. Scott's not my favorite but the judges expected way too much from a blind man trying to play a frickin electric guitar while standing at a mic stand and trying not to knock it over.

The only contestant that I think has a chance of having a solo career is Allison. Adam can really sing but the only thing I can picture him doing is wearing a wig and playing in a Cure cover band. Anyone else think Adam Lambert looks like Robert Smith?

Yes, Matt was great tonight! I really don't think they'll save Lil though if it comes down to it. She hasn't a great night for them once. She's just the great singer who really doesn't use her voice as she should. She's been pretty boring with her songs.

OK I think adam...as much as i hate saying this will win. He is way to theatre and needs to go back to wicked. Last two will be adam and allison. Anoop better step up his game a little more. Looks Like Bye Bye Lil :( The Judges Just Tear Her Up Everytime She Gets On Stage :( And I Think It's A Toss Up Between Anoop and Matt For Elimination #2...??? Again, Not An Adam Fan, But The Judges See Something I Don't EVERY Week.

This season really blows.

The only really interesting contestant is Allison. The only prayer the finals have of being even remotely interesting is if she makes it to the final; probably against Adam or Danny.

If it's Danny against Adam, which is the only other realistic outcome, the final will hardly be worth watching.

I guess Idol decided not to give back this year. Must be the economy...

im so mad allison was in the bottom AGAIN...shes so good! forwarded through most of the show..these elimination shows DRAG on forever...glad lil went home i liked anoop but it was time...matt should go next...im hoping for a allison, kris, & adam showdown! with kris or allison as the winner (doubt it) adam does not need AI anymore...hes going to be a star regardless even though hes not my fave...that guy has skills!

It wasn't that big of a surprise....It seems like that happens at the end of the season every time because the fans get complacent. Ryan always says make sure you vote for your favorite or risk losing them.

I'm not surprised Adam is in the bottom two. He's got talent but I just don't see him having any kind of success as a solo artist.

This season has been such a bore. They tried to spice it up with that cake making bit but my god, that was so staged it was ridiculous.

I think the highlight of the season may come next week when Slash is the celebrity mentor. Hell, that has the potential to be one of the all time greatest episodes ever. I hope he doesn't disappoint.

I thought Adam was amazing.....and I loved the duet with Allison and Adam. Kris was pretty bad last night in my opinion. But I didn't really care for Danny either. Should be interesting!

Loved Allison and Adams duet.... they sing really good together...i do NOT think Danny did very good..that last note...WTF!!!! I liked Kris. Hes definitely not as good of a singer as the other three though....at this point i think they are all really good....but i think UNFORTUNATELY Allison or Kris will go home.....Adam/Allsion finale would be awesome.
