around what time does this thing usually kick off??? cause whether or not i book a motel room for Friday the 24th of April depends on what time Stagecoach opens their doors on the 25th....i'll be coming from, like, 2 hours away and i don't wanna have to wake up really early to hit the road. If the doors open at 8 am or whatever, i'll want a motel room for Fri. night. If doors don't open until noon then i'll probably be okay with leaving at 9:30 am on Saturday and just booking a motel room for that night (and possibly Sunday night too)...
if you're GA and you care how close you get those lawn chairs to the stage, it will matter what time you get there saturday. plan on being in line an hour before gates open and you'll be fine. i haven't looked at the main page to know what time that is. that said... it's always fun to get your "pre-game" on friday night... and wake up bright-eye and bushy tailed in the desert saturday morning. we'll be coming from OC and plan to stay the night friday night.
You probably wont get room without taking Friday night
from the FAQ page.
What's the best time to arrive?
Parking opens at 9:00am on both days. Gates open at Noon on Saturday and Sunday. Arrive early to allow for possible traffic and security search at the entrance. Please try and carpool.
Maybe like last year they added a PBR event which started at 10a.m. It's so much easier for me to commute the day before and let that stress go.

As a first-timer, I don't want to miss a minute of anything. I'll be checking in Thursday evening to camp.

be sure to pace yourself with the imbibing of alcoholic pleasure then...i have seen so many people passed out for hours on end because they went big early. remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Hey thanks for the advice, Cooter.
I think I'll start my marathon training tonight as I'm sitting here snowed in, unable to get home. :(

ummm.. that's right. pace yourself. Being the "virgin" (stagecoach virgin!) that I was in 08.. I over did it early on, and suffered for it the whole weekend. We arrived on Wednesday..... partied way too much on Thursday.. Friday was a blur. I won't do that again, there are too many days to have fun, to waste it on one night.

Just remember- Beer before hard, you're in the yard. Hard before beer and you're in the clear.

I think you should just skip the beer all together. :)

Yeah I prefer to go straight to the Kentucky apple juice, or gut rot.

oh no problems here. I don't drink (i'm 29 so it's not a legal issue, just an "i don't like alcohol" issue)!!

ok another stupid "first time Stagecoach-goer" question.....so even if i don't buy the camping pass, and just stick with my regular 2-day $99 GA ticket, i still can't go back to the hotel just to sleep over night and then come back on Sunday and expect to get in?!?!

No. You can leave at the end of the festival on Saturday (or when ever you want to leave) to go to your hotel room and return on Sunday with your GA ticket. You just can't go in and out during the festival. Does that help? :)
