Festival of lights at Griffith Park done every year by DWP. It's FREE. I prefer to park at the Zoo and walk the festival. You can also drive it which takes forever.

For anyone in the SF valley, candy cane lane in woodland hills has been pretty spectacular year after year.

"Official event hours are 7pm-9pm. Residents request that visitors drive by no later than 10pm on weeknights, 11pm on weekends. Exit Winnetka Avenue off the 101N freeway, head north and turn right on Oxnard Street. "

Its 2-4 blocks long down 2-4 different streets from what I can remember. Don't forget to drive with headlights off while enjoying the displays.

I suggest a SC forum get together this winter at FF's Big Bear vacation home. Ski all day, red cups all night. :D

I somehow doubt he is implying "shoot"...more like a synonym for crap?? hehehe...he must miss a lot? hehehe:D

I thought the Big Bear idea might have been a long shot, but I thought I'd try. I wouldn't mind sharing my mini condo, but it's pretty crowded with the five of us already.

Kymery is half right. It's "Pull...Bang...and another word for crap"....but that doesn't mean "I" miss alot:) Actually I have a shirt, that I got from a gun club, that says that on the back. You'll see it at SC09.

You'll see it at SC09.

Already planning the SC09 wardrobe! It's only 4 months and like 2 weeks away...are you packed yet? :D

No. I just figured since everyone talks about what to wear(ie..logos or forum name signs etc..so they can find each other) that i'd just wear that shirt. That way, anyone who walks up behind me will know who I am.

Saw someone posted these weird sites on a yahoo page...Not sure if they are really helpful or not, but worth a try...

If you're in the South Bay - there's an area of South Torrance called "Sleepy Hollow" (quite honestly I don't think I knew they called it that until I was searching for it online...?) - it's a crazy traffic mess to try to go through the neighborhood, but it's worth it. The pics posted here just do not do it justice. Several blocks of the neighborhood go insane with lights, sounds, etc. and it's great!

I am going to a boat parade tomorrow in Redondo Beach with 2 of my ex-girlfriends on one ex-girlfriend's boat! :D

Then tomorrow nite I'm going on a walking tour around Naples to see the boat lites.

-------------------------------------------

The Redondo boat parade was cancelled and we ended up going to KROQ Almost Acoustic Xmas instead (I got high from the fumes ) but here is a boat parade pic anyway.

Is it wet out there? :D

I've been in Rancho Cucamonga the last couple days for a work conference/training. The mountain views with the snow on top of them is absolutely gorgeous right now.

But about the lights...

In Bakersfield (I wouldn't recommend driving just to see this, but I'm pretty much amazed by it so I thought I'd post) - there is a gentleman who decorated his house with numerous amounts of inflatable decorations and a fake snow machine. AND...an inflatable projection screen. He's been playing different holiday movies on it, and within 100 feet of his house, you can tune your radio to the frequency he set up and listen to the movie from your car.

:) I love Christmas.

I agree, Christmas, by far the best time of year... always happy at this time of the year, and its the calm before the storm, Jan 1, is when things go crazy at work... lol
