Hi everyone! I am a SC virgin and I'm trying to figure out which tickets to purchase. I'm going to SC with 3 other people and none of us have been before and we're not familiar with the venue. Are the reserved seats worth the extra $300? If so, why?

I certainly hope so, I bought reserved seats this year. Last year I went GA, this year I wanted to be able to see the artist on stage instead of only on the screen. But hopefully someone else who has gone reserved in the past will chime in to help you out with advice.

By the way welcome to Stage Coach, your going to have a blast whichever way you decide to go!!

We've always bought general admission because we roam from stage to stage. I think if most of the acts you're interested in are at the main stage then you may want to get reserved.

I think we'll be pissing some people off, cuz we roam from stage to stage, and we don't have seats on the end! Oooopsss....

The first year GA looked horrible. Everybody and their stuff was getting trampled on.
Second year they made walk paths which made GA much improved.

I went reserved both years and I will be again this year.

Hello, welcome!

I think the VIP seats are worth it if you plan to be at the "Mane Stage" for most the of the performances. If you are roaming from stage to stage, you don't really get much use out of your expensive seat, but by the time headliner hit's the "Mane Stage" at night, your feet (if they are not numb yet from all of the drinking ;) )will thank you for purchasing the expensive seats.

It's also a lot easier to find your seat at night (versus trying to find your blanket and chair in a sea of blankets and chairs).

:):)

Yeah, I'd be very surprised to find someone who just stayed in their assigned seat the whole time!! So much good music, good people and good times to be had at Stagecoach!!!

As far as I know it's never been an issue in regards to annoying anybody. You pitch your chairs wherever there's space and stay there until which ever act you're seeing is through and then move on. I know it gets congested at the main stage the closer you get to it. The only time I got pissed was when some lady in front of us decided to put up an umbrella. WTF!

What? It wasn't confiscated? Last year they weren't allowed.

I thought it was funny that you couldn't bring in a mister but they were for sale inside the venue and the same thing with Umbrellas.

Probably in a contract so that they can sell them!

Yeah, I thought that was kinda messed up too, more money for the venue I guess..

I went reserved the first two years and it is the best, Ill meet some friends and roam around and schedule the artists i really want to see. It really nice to see the artists up close when you are done running around, I think it is better to watch the show on stage than on the big screen!

Rose
11-20-2008, 11:04 AM
Yes, the tickets are expensive. I justify it by taking the price of the ticket and dividing that by how many artists I see during the two days. It becomes a lot more affordable for me that way.

Plus I'm spoiled.

Thanks for all the great advice! So, if I get P3 seats, will I be able to see the stage?

I stood the whole time :o :D BUT, there were some people behind me who preferred to sit during the "Mane Stage" acts that are during the earlier part of the day. I just tried to be a little courteous and stand towards the side.

totally understand ;) as i try to be respectful of those around me, but if i have to stand to see, i will definitely stand with no guilt. that being said, i won't stand on the seat because i think it is just rude for a 6' tall guy to be standing on a seat . . . virtually anyone behind me would have zero percent chance of seeing the show.

They are cloth and kinda like directors chairs. The P1 or Gold Circle ones have cup holders and all others do not. At least that was SC07 & 08.

They sorta look like this, but with the Stagecoach logo on it:

Um, I don't think I was sitting in front of her  :) I went to Stagecoach 2007, but sadly wasn't able to go in 2008. Nothing will keep me from going to Stagecoach 2009 though :D

Those chairs are exactly what are in the gold circle, I was right next to it last year and again this year, and I got one of the chairs last year!

I've attended every Stagecoach. Reserved seats are definately worth it. If for getting to the restrooms alone. Air conditioned restrooms reserved for reserved ticket holders only. Imagine a rent a can with a line of 100 people at 100 degrees. that's what you'll get in General Admission. not only that getting to foof and drinks is way easier. Trust me you'll be happy you did.

We never once used the so called a/c vip bathrooms..never even saw them, we used the GA ones on the other side of the beer stand...never a line..may of looked like 20 people, just walked past them to the other end of the porta's and they were all empty and clean.
The VIP was horrible this year, way to crowded and it was open season for anyone basically. It was not only for seat holders. 1/2 the GA holders had VIP wristbands.

I never stood in a line once for the reserved seat rest rooms. The ones back stage were even hardwood walls, corian counter tops with brqass fitting and 65 cool degrees.
