This lineup makes me not even want to go this year. The entire lineup for 09 is about half as good as one day of 08's. Did all the big name acts decline to preform this year? Whats the deal? Do they plan on releasing newly added artists at some point??? There arent even enough artists to play the entire time if the format is the same as last year.

The '09 lineup is much more similar to the lineup of '07 (by the amount of artists). The first year the artists all played their full sets instead of only having an hour or so of stage time.

And if you don't like the line up, don't go. It's pretty simple.

I kind of like the idea of the longer set format. For me, it's not all about the artists anyway--it's the whole experience. There are still quite a few people I want to see so I'm not gonna complain!

I'm happy with the lineup. The only thing I'm wanting to hear more about is the smaller stages and their lineup/timing. Then when the schedule comes out, it's frantic coordination time.

I am hoping there are some more added to the side stages. Only about two to go see...who are you looking to see on the side stages? I want Charlie D of course and Ricky Scaggs, but no one else really interests me like there were the past two years. My feel will be happy!

Hi guys and gals, I have been waiting for the announcement for sooo long and it finally came! Yipee, happy about Kenny and Brad - does anyone think that Keith Urban might appear as a surprise due to him playing with both of them before?? The prices are so high this year. For just me and my hubby in our rv in Gold would be $2,100.00!!! Yikes! Also a bummer, it's the same weekend as bikefest in Laughlin that we go to every year. I am going to have a very hard time talking my hubby into going to Stagecoach this year instead of Laughlin. :(

Your right on ..
It is very expensive. If I did not live right around the corner and have work to do I would be going to Maui for that kinda money....

Play my ipod on the beach with all my favorites.
Guess thats why they have layaway...
Ummm I wonder how many will be trying to sell there tickets when they get laid off and can't make the monthly payments.
Sounds like a great deal for all involved...
Yet so many will overspend just to have a good party.....:D
Finally getting fun in here once more.....:D
Ok that is my 2 cents worth.....;)

Kinda nice knowing they won't be adding Friday....too much chaos last year, and too many days. I'm sure artists will be added, and who knows Brad may have to cancel if his new baby arrives at the same time. I'm only torn about buying the assigned...expensive seats and then wanting to go to the other stage for other performances

It is smaller then last year, but me and a friend of mine, were talking and we said its probably smaller so that way having one artist totally have no audience while a big artist is playing on another stage is pointless. They are keeping it so that way everybody should have an audience. I am about seeing the artists for a longer time then just a stinking hour. Like IHML said, its about the experience of a whole is what thrills me about going. The drive up with all of my group, the waking up to freshly made margaritas:D, the partying and seeing a country concert is just the icing on the cake.

I'm also with Sacramento on what she said in her last line. Nothing mean; just trying to save you some money.

C'mon, Reba McEntire!!!!!! All I need to do is see her and I am good for the weekend!!

ok.. here goes.
Folks, this is a good line up.. fun music, well known artists, and a great variety..New stuff, old timers and even a throw back from the 70's (poco). All ages are represented, all ages can relate, and all ages will find entertainment. Ok,, we know not all of us like the new music of Kenny,.. no big deal, he'll entertain us with his old stuff too. Reba, well she is an icon in the industry with a huge fan base. She was my first country concert. But CDB will rock the house with The Devil went down to Georgia, ZBB will get me off my seat, Brad will make us laugh with his fun songs. the way I see it.. if you don't like this performer, there's another stage . 09 will be especially fun for me because of so many people I met in 08!!! What a great reunion!! Yes there are cost increases, and I'm feeling the pinch like everyone else.. but gosh... what a great weekend we're going to have. My kids laugh that this is "mom's woodstock"....ok.. maybe it is... no responsibilities, no job, I can let me hair down, drink if I want, have fun, and no one needs to complain, or judge me...or tell on me!!
ok... I feel much better... remember my motto from 08....what happens at stagecoach, stays at stagecoach.

i agree... mostly. however LAST years list was WAY better. they really couldn't top that so anything would have been a step down. however, it will be just as fun. i believe we already had this discussion in another thread but ill say it again. this lineup isnt bad but it isnt good either

Alan Jackson,
Brooks and Dunn,
Craig Morgan,
Dierks Bently,
Faith,
Jack Ingram,
Keith Urban,
Shania Twain,
Sugarland,
Toby Keith...

etc. i understand those would piss a couple people off as well but they are among my favorites and would LOVE them in concert. I will say that lady antebellum and Miranda Lambert as well as kenny are GREAT picks.

Ok, I got it...we can camp in Ocotillo for free which is about 45 min from the polo grounds.

Abra and RR can bring their drums, GSF can pretend to play bass (isnt that what they do anyway) and I with my Guitar and then we can get Festival and IHML and Kitty dressed in tight black dresses, looking like triplets and sing for us. The rest of you can be our groupies and cheer us on, light your lighters and raise your red cups.

Drinks are on me...that way we sound/look better.

Exactly!! thank you! its an experience. you are with your group, and you just are there to have fun and country music playing all over in the backround while you are at a different part of the polo field.

There is Souvenir tents, food court, BEER GARDEN, Tundra Truck drive-testing, mechanical bull riding, etc. There should be no "huge" dissapointment

This line up is horrible. Brad and Kenny are the only two worth mentioning. Not even comparible to last year. This would be a good line up for one night...maybe. I hope there will be a lot of hot blondes running around. I am sure attendance will be way down this year.

Maybe, but you can't beat the $99 weekend admission, regardless of how many "big" acts there are. Essentially you could spend $150 for a whole weekend of fun, music and a great environment.

true. don't get me wrong, i will be there, but i will be going general admission this year opposed to the expensive seats unlike last year. i was just hoping for more big name acts. CMT awards on Wednesday will prove the point. How many of those performers will be at SC09? I am still trying to figure out how the set times will work? There must be only 1 stage this year? Look's like I'll be going in at about 8:00

OK......so don't laugh, but.........after last year's SC I VOWED to hubby that I was going to lose 50 lbs and wear a bikini top, cutoffs and my boots for SC 09. Could have been that I was turning 40 in September and had a "mini freak-out moment". Anyways, have last 30 of the lbs and was all rarin' for the awesome lineup announcement. I, too, was pretty disappointed....don't get me wrong, Brad, Kenny and Reba are great headliners, but I guess I was spoiled by Year 1 with Alan, George, Kenny, B&D, etc. and more, which all performed full sets. So, it seems to be a bit lacking that there are only 3 real headliners (no offense to Miranda, Kid Rock and LBT, but I don't consider them festival headliners). Hopefully they will add more? Also, the side stages seem like they need a BIG boost (Dwight last year was the cat's meow) and there seems to be so much untapped talent (Phil Vassar, Craig Morgan, Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker, etc.) out there?

Is it just me, or was I spoiled by the first 2 years? Anyways, when I told hubby that I wasn't that into going this year (with the increased VIP seats and all), he said, "Whadda you mean? What about the bikini top, cutoffs and boots? SC09 was your goal?" Wow.....gotta love that man!!

Think we'll still go, but keeping my fingers crossed that they add some more acts.......this year just seems to have an entirely different feel to it.

Just my .02.

You are right where i think. Only 3 headliners are killing me!! But like i am saying, we can still have fun with country music in the backround. It is a shame more artists arent on the bill as of now. but you never know. shoot, eagles werent added until later along with T Yearwood.

SC has never let me down before, and dont think they will this '09 either.

keep the faith!
p.s. congrats on the weight loss =)

They normally add more groups as the months go on, remember last year, 1 monthor so prior to the event, they added Friday.

I just hope Brad paisley shows up with his wife expecting in April 2009. If he does not show up, it wont be worth going just to see Kenny Chesney, Reba, and Miranda lambert as well as Charlie daniels. Kid rock has 1 song, big deal.

You can't please everyone! We all have different tastes! So if you want to go and experience a great weekend-long event, buy a ticket. If you don't want to go because you personally don't like the line-up, don't go!

Fortunately they've managed to keep the line ups pretty eclectic. There's the stuff on the main stage that I'd rather be executed for a crime I didn't committ than listen to, but then there's some real awesome stuff like, James Intveld and the Reverend Horton Heat.

To GSFan--I too am a GS junkie....we are actually going to Vegas on ACM weekend (4/6 & 4/7) and we got tix to the 4/7 taping of the tribute to GS--he's getting Artist of the Decade. You should go!! Should be fun!!

Let's keep our fingers crossed that they make some additions to the lineup!!

from FAQ section:

Parking opens at 9:00am on both days. Gates open at Noon on Saturday and Sunday. Arrive early to allow for possible traffic and security search at the entrance. Please try and carpool.

What time does it end?
The festival ends before 12:00am midnight both nights.

Will you be posting set times in advance?
Yes. Set times will be posted here a couple days before the festival and also be on the festival guide that is passed out upon entrance.

If I remember correctly last year Saturday PBR started at 10 and I think the first artist went on at 1. Sunday everything started a little bit later but not much.

That's sound advice however there should be some imbibing on all our parts the night before, if for no other reason, than to raise our tolerance levels to a suitable degree for the remainder of the weekend. Consuming so much that you have to hold on to the grass to keep yourself from falling off the face of the earth isn't a good way to kick off the festivities.

What a great new thread that could be... "the night i want to forget".. how many times have we found religion while slumped over the porclean throne.."please, God, I promise I'll never do this again..."

I know, it's no fun laughing at the carpet, or, parking a custard if you prefer.

I've got somethin that a friend of mine from Cowboy Xtreme makes, its called Apple Pie, and its made with 151... I have to get what goes in it and put it on the board, it tastes like homemade apple cider from Oak Glen... Very good for parties, but it sneaks up on ya. I'm gonna find out... Y'all gotta try it... yummm

Sounds delish!

Haha, oh that sounds like such a bad time... I think we've all done that. Never again... The best is the girls that get so messed up they are spread eagle on the grass in front of 80,000 people and don't even care... haha... Poor things.. haha

I was with one of those girls the first year. I found it quite amusing that strangers were coming by to take pictures with her. :D

That heat just kills ya along with all the drinking. They need to supply more ICE this year. Worse case at least please SELL us a cup. I use it to cool down and I don't want it in a drink because then I'm all sticky.

I laughed at the people who drank too much and missed the concert passed out, and drooling....but heck, that could happen to us..
Rose... a girl pact....if you pass out I'll take good care of you, cover you up, take you home, no one will step on you...will you do the same??

I agree this line-up is a huge disappintment.

Not because there's a shortage of great artists (because there's not), but because I still don't understand how you can have a country show in California without the likes of Willie Cash and the Cashiers performing!

Hankdog
11-18-2008, 01:51 PM

Hankdog,

Sure 2007 had David Serby (who is damned amazing) but even the 2007 line-up would have been just plain smoking with the addition of Willie Cash and the Cashiers!

In fact; the only thing better than a show where Willie Cash and the Cashiers is playing, is a show in which Willie Cash and the Cashiers are playing multiple sets!

not so true, i think the line up is pretty good. However, the line for STAGECOACH 08 was the best so far in its 3 years of existance. it will be hard to top...kenny, brad, miranda, reba, kid, lady, zbb, little big town, inghram, ruckers will all be awesom to watch...if you dont like the line up then dont go....im going because i have not yet seen some of the artist and plus imma make this a yearly thing because it gives me the excuse of partying with all the tent campers.

I'll tell you some of the best performances I have seen were not considered "the major acts" and worth every penny I paid to get in that day if it were just them alone performing. Guess it depends on the spirit you lend it. I cant wait to run from stage to stage again! Wee-ha bring it on!

I could have sworn that Kenny, Brad, Miranda, Charlie Daniel's and Kid would be considered major acts. Kid's not considered country, but he is a headliner.

Not to mention Miss Reba herself! If she's not a major country act, no one is. Deal.

I thought I was the only one. Took me a few days to figure it out. I'm blonde. What's your excuse, SC? :p LOL

From what I've read in the past couple weeks on these posts.... I'm guessing Kymery's stack of 45-50 red cups is a public service announcement for the new folks (myself included) to advise us of the quantity of cups actually required per camper.

Let the shenanigans begin!:D

Hey, just wondering...will this legendary "Magic in a Cup" eat through the a standard Red cup or do I need to bring some industrial strength SC type cup?

How do I get a recipe or who can I supply a good share of the fixins' to?;)

More like a public service announcement to remind the newcomers that you need them in order to not get yourself in trouble with the po po.
