Please settle a question we have at work. I checked out the prices for Eldorado 1 ($750.00)!!!!! for a campsite and wristbands for 6 people. I say that those wristbands DO NOT get you into the venue. (I hope to God I'm wrong). A friend says it better include getting into the venue or else she's not going. I'm hope she is right. Someone please let me know.

Does NOT include tickets to the festival. Otherwise it would be posted as such.

Yeah, you gotta realize that 6 people wrist bands = $300 of that money, at least according to last years prices of $50pp to camp, and that is in ADDITION to the camping. Also note that this price of $750 includes hook ups.

You may want to look at the EDII prices instead for camping.

OK, so $750.00. This includes 6 wristbands to get into the campground. We only need 2 but whatever. So, for 2 people for 2 days of concert going = $950.00. Guess we won't be going after all. :-( Have fun everybody. I'm jealous.

You could always tough it out and tent camp for $50/each. Making the weekend $300 for 2 people. :)

Yeah, you dont have to camp in ED1...EDII is $500 less money.

I think they need to re-review this situation. 6 tickets per RV min is rediculous!

Basically they are trying to make up for the awesome $99 two day GA tickets by reaming the campers and seat buyers!! Seats are almost twice what they were and now min on camping.

What I also cannot find is what the price is for EDI if you do not want hook ups? And I know they only have a limited # of spaces that even have hook ups, so where is the price for a spot without it??

Hi
Read the Camping post i made. There are NO spots without hookups in EDI at all...all elect, thats why they are pricey..you have to go to EDII for no hook ups to save money. Or just pay for a hook up spot and dont hook up??:D

Actually I was reading it over again and found this right above all EDI pricing. So the way I am interpreting this is they are going to have non hook-up spots in EDI. It sounds like there will be an option when purchasing EDI to select no power which would take it to the $250 w/4 camping passes like EDII. I'm hoping I'm correct, I loved being in EDI last year.

"You can choose full El Dorado 1 amenity packages as explained below, or pick the option for NO power at the price of $250 that includes 4 people pass wristbands. "

No, you CANT buy non hook-ups in EDI-ONLY if you can get ADA Access with a handicap placard. There are NO "non-hookup" spots in EDI. Countrygurl clarified that a bit earlier for me.

I agree it is a bit confusing, until you read between the lines, it says the following:
quote:
ED1
It is also the only camp area that offers electrical hook ups for the entire area (30 & 50 amps). Only a Limited # of 50 amp hook ups are available to purchase and will sell out fast!

No prob...I know this question is gonna be asked over and over and over until the day they sell out....poor countrygurl!

Maybe they need to clear that up more, put in BOLD NO NON HOOKUPS IN EDI UNLESS YOU HAVE HANDICAP SPOTS!!

Yeah, I think for the most part it is going to be a lot of people that have been there the past 2 years and were in ED1 and had spots w/o hook ups that are going to be confused.

I agree...and I also see an issue with this:

Ok, so you don't have the money to pay, nor the need, for hookups, so you want EDI, due to supposed to be quieter (yeah right!!!ahaha) which is the main reason for EDI I thought, but you don't want the "party edII" or the "family" section, cuz then you HAVE to either camp next to lots of kiddies, or lots of adult kiddies partying all night.

Not much of a choice there.

I definitely am not worried about the noise or party, i just don't want to be in the "family" section. I guess we will just have to try EDII out this year! Looking forward to another great year!

The tickets are always sold seperately. 79.00 per day or 99.00 plus 7.00 in fees per ticket for for both days, or 4.00 in fees for individual days.
When you camp you have to pay not only for the camp zone, but also a wristband for each person at 50.00 per person plus about 4.00 in fees each person.
All this information is available on the stagecoach website just click on the camping tab and scroll down to the area you wish to camp in and read what is included in each price package for each campsite area.
I rented a hotel last year, at least I could sleep and shower and had AC which was definately needed as it got over 112 on saturday and 95 on sunday. Not much shade anywhere and 2.00 per bottle of water 3.00 for gatorades and 6.00 per small cup of beer added up to over 100.00 for 2 of us for 2 days and I had only 2 beers. No drinks allowed in but if you have an RV, you can bring in stuff if you can get away with them not searching your coolers. No ice for sale anywhere inside the arena unless you buy a cold drink from a vendor.

No..a bit diff this year when it comes to the camping wrist bands, yes same for concert tickets...there is a MIN you have to buy when it comes to the per person bands...the packages include a min of 4-6 people! So even if you show up with two...like me, I HAVE to buy 4 of them!

Well yeah, but they don't sell out so people wont have to resort to buyin resale, unless the resellers are offering them for less, which means the resellers are still losing money cuz they can't sell them at cost, does that make sense? I like math...;)

Kymery
11-06-2008, 12:55 PM
ANDDDDD...Everyone and their mom will have them for sale this year, the competition will be stiff. Come one, how many rv's really are gonna have 6 people in em?

Cooter
11-06-2008, 01:04 PM
with the costs involved a lot of people may need extra people in their rv's. if you spend the $750 and break it up 6 ways it ain't bad at all price-wise for the weekend.

honkytonkangel
11-06-2008, 01:40 PM
Right, but if you have 6 people in your RV, they can just buy 6 wristbands seperately and split the cost of the RV and it works out the same for them...but I don't think its fair to force people to buy more wristbands than they actually need.....which seems to be the case this year.....

But, don't you still label the edI as a bit quieter, and EDII for the partiers...so you cant have EDI so that it is quieter. Or you have to stay with the families, and all in all, walk further.

Doesnt it suck that we can't be involved in these meetings?? We would get so much more accomplished!!! And less hassles in these times of need.

I guess for the cheaper price EDI is gonna become the paryt place :)

No..i think you got that backwards...edI is the pricier one, closer and with hookups...and it is supposed to be the more down scale one, EDII was always the party one for a good price.

Well, sure the prices suck. But, actually the price to stay in edII is about what I paid for last year for international. I can't really afford to go, but thats what credit cards are for, right? I'd rather not dwell on the negative. I'm looking forward to going, period. I'd rather look forward to meeting new people and partying with the forum group. After all, isn't that what its all about? ED 2 is the party late 1

ED 1 is closest and has the cyber cafe, clubhouse, and electrical hook ups..

So the re-distribution of wealth begins....

So just because the perception is those of us with campers have money, we have to buy 6 wrist bands, even though we only need 2. Then that makes the festival tickets cheaper for everyone. I just don't get it. Charge for the site -- OK. Charge for electricity -- OK. Charge per person in the campground to cover showers, etc. -- OK. I get that. But, to charge for wristbands that don't get used ???

Countrygurl
11-06-2008, 08:56 PM
I suggest trying to think of the charge for the site just that and the wristbands are a bonus. use 2 use 6, its up to you, you are paying for the site. Turning a grass field into a permitted sanctioned place to allow thousands of rvs and people to camp for the weekend is expensive and thus far, far from profitable. This is a weekend concert so you don't have to camp. You can go to the show and park free during the festival.

Other options are another campsite, offsite camping, hotels, tent camping or park your rv overnight at 52/madison for $25 for the weekend. Tons of less expensive options are available.

I can't afford an RV let alone a place to party all weekend in it so I feel ya. Just trying to put some perspective on it even though I will get flamed after.

sandg
11-06-2008, 09:36 PM
Appreciate your work and patients -- hopefully the flaming isn't too bad. The price is much higher than similar field camping I've done, but I do understand why the costs would be a little more. I'll consider my options, as you suggest.

Did you people REALLY think that this year you could require folks to buy MORE wristbands than they need in order to camp there, and think we wouldn't complain and question the fairness/logistics of it? Come on now....in this economy??? What are those people smoking?

They are trying to make it sound like a deal, but since I don't know how much it cost for the equivalent RV spot this year, when they didn't have a minimum wristband purchase, I can't argue that point....anyone remember how much those spots went for in SC08?
I don't know why I get my panties all in a bunch over this, I don't have an RV, guess I just hate seeing people (some of whom are my friends) get hosed....

Here it is

1 RV Vehicle Permit 50.00
1 M- Elec for 75.00
1 per person camping pass $50.00 per person

So...it was $75 for elect spot, plus $50 pp, plus $50 for the rv..so for 6 people it would of been $425 last year with hook ups

maybe last year the energy consumption was way higher than gv planned for and they lost a bunch of money in that aspect? gv is not out to rip people off. if they were they wouldn't have been in business this long.
