How fast do you think el dorado 1 will sell out this year? Do we need to buy the hook-ups to be near team red cup?

I wont have hook ups, but I am requesting handicap too...so best bet is get there early to get parked close.

Are you requesting handicap cuz you need it or just want a larger spot???
Lets just pray that they don't raise the prices.

I need it...after my back surgery, I can walk very short distances..couldnt even walk thru the grocery store yesterday. Didn't even know they gave bigger spots, but that would be a plus!:p

Wow, $750 to be in ED1. I think that will pretty much keep us from going. The kids are too young to walk the distance to the other campgrounds. That's why we spent the $$ to rent an RV and be closer to the venue. The kids aren't gonna be happy.in the morning. This morning I told em we would go after hearing the line-up. Then after work the wife informed me the price of camping tripled.

do you take the kids to disneyland or any amusement parks? it can't be much more than that overall. or you could book a hotel and just drive to and from the venue for the 2 days. no one is being forced to stay in an rv.

I understand why people are upset, especially if you are a veteran to SC. The camping prices have tripled and the GA tickets are 1/2 the price. They are robbing from what they think are the rich, to help the poor.

No..I don't think you can "consider" the 6 person tickets included as a package, and that you just happen to get 6 tickets included....come one we are smarter than that. Besides, 4 ticket options are offered in EDII...just doesn't make sense. 6 people in an RV is outrageous...most don't even hold that! I have 37' and 6 would be cramped, we would run out of water in a heart beat, and have to dump the toilet everyday! Believe me I know, camping with my 5 kids!!!! I don't think that the ones who made the decision on camping has ever owned or camped in an RV before. 6 is NOT practical.

It is highway robbery to charge $750 for elec and 6 people vs. $250 for 4 people and no elec. That means Elec is costing $350.00 for 4 days in EDI and to camp in EDII is $50, just don't see the reasoning in the extra $300 for elect.

Ok...ducking again;)

I've lurking a long while, as I was unable to reply to any posts, Countrygurl got it fixed for me, so hoorah! I'll be posting....The rate increase had my husband thinking twice about going at all, however, we had such a good time SC 08, that well.....we may try to be a little cramped as long as we can have power, maybe more fun with more people, it was just us two last year, so far we are up to 4 of us. We might even see if our kids want to join in (not really kids anymore, but to us always). Yeah I can post!

Welcome ShodyJean...I hear ya...infact we were just discussing if the line up was worth the money and time. It has always been a blast there! What really has us sucked in is the fun we had camping, more so than the venue!! Even if I am not happy with the line up...I know we will have a blast camping, but wow with the cost doubling to camp hurts for many and I feel that pain.

Hopefully you will find two more...shouldnt be too hard! hehee

one thought is to offset the camping cost is getting the GA tickets. We had lots of fun with GA seats last year...we went from stage to stage catching different performances, we heard all the same music, but granted, we were not up close to the stage, and didn't have an assigned seat. That would really be cool, if all the acts were on one stage all weekend. I'd for sure spend the money then. Half the fun is the camping and partying for the few days we're all out there together, the music is icing on the cake. Many of the performers we've already seen, and we can usually get pretty close to the stage during a regular concert. At least we have a week to think about it.

I agree on saving for most by getting GA...but I can listen to the radio for that matter. The first year GA was cool..we got pretty close, but thank goodness we had seats this year...there were soo many people out in the sea!

Still in consideration...Doug is re-thinking it...but he will go for sure if I do! I tried girls...I tried!!

I understand supply and demand makes these prices so high but Geeeez! It will cost me more to park my RV for 2 days than I paid for my RV!:eek::eek:

How soon do they hookup the power? I need the 50 Amp for $850. Can I park there a month ahead of time and rent my house out to pay for camping?

My advice is NO KIDDIES in THE TENT AREA!!! It was REALLY bad this year..the partying and mahem was out of control!! And not in a good way!! It was like nothing I had ever seen. I suggested strongly in my survey reply that they have seperate "family friendly" tent area..hopefully more people had the same idea...I really felt for those folks who had their kids with them..if it had been me and my kids (if I had any) I would have packed up and left.

Where can I get an RV for that price? What year is it? Does it have a lot of miles on it? Where did you get it?

OUr kids love to tent camp. We tent camped at sc 07. We were lucky enough to be in ED1 with some friends so we could have our truck near the tent to lock stuff up when going to the show. Between the weather(high temps) and the way they tent campers were treated as far as parking and set-up we decided we wouldn't be back without an RV. Also there was the additional distance to the venue. Those with younger kids know how often you need to run out for stuff. There was also the price of food and drinks. With the RV we were able to bring most of our food and drinks with us to save some $$.
I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a patch of dirt for 3 days. I still haven't told the girls yet. They get out of school in 1/2 an hour.

Hey, you can always pitch a tent in your RV spot if there is room and your kids can still sleep in a tent....if they're old enough, that is...

I got it from a guy on the street corner who had to sell it cuz he was going to jail the next day. I don't know how many miles it has. The speedometer thingy fell behind the dash somewhere and it only moves for about 5 mins.

It's a fixer-upper. :D

They aren't quite old enough for that. Last year they had the nice rear pop out bedroom while we ended up on the floor. Our problem is the RV spot now has the bargain price of $750.

We were trying to think of anyone we know who is handicapped that would go. It would be cheaper to pay for them for the weekend than pay full price.
