Hi all. My beautiful Granddaughter Melissa Marie came into this world this morning at 1:41AM. She was anxious to join this world and came early.
She was 2lbs 14oz. She was doing well early this morning when I got to see her in the NICU.
Had to home and check on grandma, gunna head back in a little bit.
Heather is doing fine, just scared becuz Melissa is so tiny. They were admitted on Monday trying to stall delivery. WooHoo we got 1 more week, so she came at 28 weeks. It's been a tough and scary time. Not to mention the lack of sleep. But we just have to keep sending Melissa good vibes, so she continues to get stronger.
I will keep you guys posted. Someone send me a text on my phone when the line-up comes out as I am not checking the board or my e-mails at this time.
And all of you plz have a beer, drink or Kamakaze for me as right now I am being a good lil grandma and no red cup for me.

Thanks everyone. It's like all of you guys are our extended family.
I just got back from the hospital both baby and mommie are doing good. She is so cute, of course I am biased. I have a little video of her right after she was born. You can here her cry. More tomorrow.

aw... how wonderful!!! yup, I think you are now "The Grammie".. !!
Mommie...I only weighed 3 pounds at birth (full term) and I spent the first 3 months of my life in an incubator in intensive care. Babies that small didn't make it back then. Everything has changed today and all that love you and your family have for that little girl will make her big and strong in no time.

Grammie was my mother. So not to keen on that name.
So I have decided that I will be The 'G' Mommie.
Doug says I'll be 'G', his mother we be 'GG' and Melissa Marie is eMMy.
I started calling her my lil M&M.
I know I'm weird.

Hi everyone. Those of you going to see Phil and others this Saturday, have tons of fun :D wish I could be there, please take lots of pics to share with us.
Lil update:
Heather was released she pretty much has her strength back. It's just hard for her not being at the hospital able to see Melissa 24/7.
Melissa will be staying in the NICU for about 2 months. They did put her on a ventilator on day 2 just so she doesn't have to work as hard at breathing. There are all this forms that Heather keeps having to sign just in case they say. The nurses keep saying she's doing good. So that calms Heather down some.
I did finally take some pics. There is also a video of her moments after she was born. If anyone wants to see em they are on my photobucket account. Here is a link.

Love ya all, Yvonne.

Oh wow..I love the pic of her little hand holding Heathers finger!!
That video is great!!! Glad you did take pics after all....memories forever. I will say my heart dropped when in the video Melissa was crying and all good, then the BEEEEEP, then they covered her all up right away and the video stopped! What the heck...don't do that to me!

:)
Hi everyone Melissa is improving. She is over 3 pounds now. She has grown 1 and half inches. They took away the intubation tube a week ago. She has been on a lil cpap breathing mask/machine, they are thinking of upgrading her to just a small tube in her nose. They are letting Heather hold her for like 30min at a time now. Here is a lil picture of Melissa it looked like she was smiling. There are more on my photobucket, and 3 little videos. For any of you that are intrested.

ahhhh.. she's improving so much....!! glad to hear she's doing well. that's good news.
WOW...Melissa is so much bigger and looks so much stronger. CONGRATS
I heard my whole life that I was the ugliest baby anybody had ever seen. This was coming from my Great Grandma, Grand parents, parents, etc. (they are supposed to lie and say babies are all beautiful, especially your own!!!) They said I looked like a plucked chicken. 3 pounds and 19 inches long. They dressed me in doll clothes for the first year because they couldn't find anything else that fit.
