"Mark your calendar: While an official announcement is still forthcoming, Coachella promoters Goldenvoice have begun booking artists for next year’s festival, which has been moved up two weeks from its regular last weekend of April slot to April 17–19, 2009."

Hmm...thanks Cooter. That hopefully means cooler weather? But then again, the weather is always the same in Indio!
Good thing I didn't book my room yet. I tried the minute I got home from SC but they have it figured out now and have it blocked off. That would actually be good for all of us because the hotel people won't figure it in time to raise all their rates and charge double or triple the regular rates.

they already have for that supposed coachella weekend...i'm sure the weekend after is now higher, too.

But you would be surprised...I do booking for golf travelers and many hotels had no idea about either one until two weeks before..I got some reservations in for people for SC08 in time at a good rate.

They usually announce dates line-ups in Nov.

Wow....I was just assuming it'd be the first weekend in May again. If they bump it up 2 weeks - we can make it a birthday par-tay weekend for me! :) (birthday is 4/16)
Scary that we're all already so excited about planning something that's 7 or 8 months away! Do you believe it hasn't even been 5 months SINCE SC 2008?

7 or 8 mo. goes by quicker then you think! lol. Like me, working and going to school CONSTANTLY I turn around and September is almost over!

Last time we left Monday morning. It was much better leaving Monday morning. Then you could be part of the red cup club and have fun on Sunday too.

Definately leave monday! What was actually fun was seeing all the peoples camp site all messed up, blow up pools full of dirt, pong tables broken, awnings ripped off (close those when you are not at camp) red cups everywhere! Oh...and the hungover people!!:eek:
We went from weds to mon, but if no fri this year, I guess back to thurs thru mon.

Ahhh.. yes.. the mess some left behind...don't forget the lost keys, cameras and "mis placed" clothes. We came home with sandals and shirts that weren't ours. We even came home with cases of beer we never got around to drinking...oh and I can't forget the injuries!!! What a great time we had!!!!

Oh gosh, we had sooo much liquor left and I just don't get how!! I had things that weren't ours either! Oh...and my back..my aching back..ended up with a 7mm sequestered disc!!! OUCH...Getting better, but scary...maybe another back surgery in the future for me. AFTER SC09 AND WWF09!!
SC09 PLEEEAAAAAAASE HAVE MORE SHUTTLES...Not just Thomas the train. I'd pay $5 for that shuttle!

Oh I know. If there is ONE thing they can improve on, it is that! But...Luckily I have my hadicap place card now, so I will be much closer, (thanks to my walking injury from sC08) but ouch for those who dont! The blister I saw...ewwwwwwww

and the fond memories I have from my blown out knee from SC 08, I'm STILL not back to normal, but I still have my handicapped placard...should work for 09...looks like we'll be right where we want to be...!

Late b-day for me too! 3/25!
My BDay too, 3/25! I'll be coming as a hot mama just turned 50! Whoo-hoo! Can't wait to be there again! If it does'nt work out that I'll come as a vendor, then I'll ask for it as my bday gift! Great idea!

My daughter and I had to break camp and leave late Sunday due to the fact that some dummy did'nt secure their canopy and it blew into our tent and created a hole that we could not repair cuz of the wind. Worst part was driving around Indio at 1:00am with my 13 year old daughter, not knowing where we were or where to go to get a decent room (doubt there were any decents ones left anyway). We ended up in a seedy little place called the "Holiday", wow, what a blast from the past! Not very comfy but we were out of the relentless wind... Think this year maybe renting something close-by, any recommendations anyone?

El Dorado 1=no tram. We weren't about to try and get our kids that far in and out to the other camping areas. Just how much blue and white spray paint am I gonna need to mark the front of our camp sites? Will they be pissed if I paint their grass? Team Blue Space.

you will be painting DIRT blue. The wind might blow the paint away :cool:
