Hey y'all! I'm SO excited about this charity gig coming up on September 13th! What a fun way to show support for our Veterans! I'm including the flyer and also all the details below it! Hope you can make it but if you're way out of the area (as I know some of you are), I hope you'll tell all your friends who live up in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area about it! Thank you!

BLUE LIGHTNIN' STRIKES AND A FIRE DANCER IGNITES FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
Where & When: AMERICAN LEGION - September 13th, 6pm to 12am, 9026 Sunland Blvd., Sun Valley, California 91352

This exciting American Legion Hawaiian Luau is going to be a fun-filled benefit for our War Veterans! Tickets, which include a delicious dinner, can be purchased at the event or in advance by going to the American Legion at 9026 Sunland Blvd., Sun Valley between 10am and 9pm. Dinner will be served at 6pm and includes - wow! - Pork cooked in a pit, Teriyaki Chicken, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Colossal Shrimp, Sweet potatoes, Portuguese sausage, fried rice, various salads, dessert, and more! Your dinner ticket stub is also entered in a raffle for prizes that include trips to Laughlin, NV, dinners local to the San Fernando Valley, cash awards of $200, $100, and $50, Movie Tickets, Theatre Tickets, Baskets of Booze, and more! You’ll also have the opportunity to increase your chances to win prizes by purchasing additional raffle tickets, 6 for just $5.00 and there will be several full bars to serve you! We will perform four sets of hot country music beginning at 7pm but with a 1 hour break from 8pm to 9pm for a full Hawaiian Hula Show complete with fire dancing! Then we'll rock country again at 9pm and keep you dancing to the hottest country music until midnight! Hey IHML! It really is going to be a blast. There's going to be a ton of great food and they're actually going to pit roast the pig. I had that recently at a party we played for actor Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck, "Dr. Doom" in Fantastic 4, etc.) and it is the best pork I've ever tasted in my life. Hope to see you there! Yep, KL and I can carpool since we're roommates. It's not that bad of a drive for us--so we'd probably drive home but a room could get interesting festival!

Hey y'all, I received a reply back from the booker regarding reserving a table for all of you to share.

She will need a "close number of people" to expect for the table and also a name that she can put on the table so that the rest of you would know where you're sitting when you arrive. It would also be helpful if you had an approximate time for arriving at the reserved table so that she would know when it was okay to give it away to other guests who might need it. Remember, it's a charity event, so the more people that have a place to enjoy there dinner, then the more the veterans benefit.

Hi Rose! Well, the luau dinner starts at 6pm but people can show up as early as 5pm. If a few more Stagecoachers' are sure they'll be coming up and have a general time frame, I can let the booker know there'll be "x" number coming and to mark the table with the reservation name "StageCoach" or whatever y'all would want. Then you'd all be able to sit together which should be a lot fun. Sure make it easier for me to find everyone and say howdy! :) Thanks!

Oh, Doug has been doing most of the driving cuz we are towing a trailer. I think I drove a whole 5 hours of the 36 hour drive.

4 cylinder van+1500lbs of towing+colorado mountains= lots and lots of praying and chanting "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can" .

Hey y'all! Mommie, I don't have any special info about the Universal Studio Holiday Inn but I check their website and it looks like a real nice one.

About buying tickets in advance, I don't think it's going to be necessary if I have the booker reserve a table with the name of your party on it. You'd just have to show up at the door, give the table name (Stagecoach Forum?) and pay the $15.00 to enter the event. I'm going to email the booker and find out exactly how many can be seated at one table. So far it looks like there are 4 or 5 of you coming? Does that sound about right?

Hey y'all! The booker is reserving 10 seats at a front row table. Send me a private message here in the forum and I'll tell you the "label name" that the table will be held under. That way a lurker can't steal your seat by showing up and giving the label name at the door. The table holds up to 20 so if there's anybody else here that wants to go and sit at that table, just let me know and I'll add you to that table list!

Hi all sorry I've been so quiet. I have not recovered from our road trip to Iowa and back. Mom has been quite a handfull since our return.

We will be attending the Luau with a couple of new friends, Chris and Rich. We will be there right at 5pm, maybe a lil sooner. We really need a break. We booked a room in Van Nuys for the night.

Castaway in Burbank is FANTASTIC. It's owned by the same company/place that does the Oddessy in Mission Hills. I actually still own a 6 piece of original Castaway glassware from the old days when you purchased an exotic drink you got to keep the glass. We walked away from there many a nights when we would take a case of glasses with us. They all got broken in many different earthquakes over the years.

Hey Festivalfan! It was such a blast meeting you and everyone else last night - you are SO welcome and I'm very happy you had such a fun time! Thank you for the kind words! I'm looking forward to seeing you all again sometime and I will definitely let you know when we're playing closer to your neck of the woods! We did receive an invitation to play at ********** Festival down in Lake Elsinore next year and I've placed both days on our gig calendar until they narrow down which day they'd like us to perform but I'm sure there will be an opportunity for us to get together again before September 2009!

What a GREAT evening. Started out tailgating in Mommie & Doug's hotel room and then the party moved to the Luau. Food was amazing and the lines were so long but they moved pretty fast. The drinks were flowin and really pretty cheap (especially when some nice guy at the bar was buying our shots). They need to rename that song...tequilla makes her clothes come off to Peach Kama Kazi's... Justice Daniels THANKS for everything and I loved our VIP table, center PIT. It's hard to believe that it was my first time meeting IHML & KL because it just felt like hooking up with good ole friends that like to have a lots of fun. Too bad that cute boy I brought to our table turned out to be a dud. Festival...once again, good time girl and yes we table danced or was that us two-steppin together :eek: :D :rolleyes:
Dansin & Val good seeing you guys again! Now the evidence shows that I got pulled up to do a little bit of a hula dancing. By this time my pink cowboy hat was gone then my hula skirt ended up being warn as a necklace by some and then the flip flops came off...the rest of the evidence I posted on My Space. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

Very cool! I'm still doing a bit of recovering, I think the NY City Marathon would have been easier on the body. Anyway, who was the cute gay guy? What was he wearing, dying to know. And where the heck was I during the peach kami's ... didn't even know they were around!

I think I was busy with the "senior" who forgot his teeth and had to go home and get them.!!! then when we couldn't wait any longer the girls decided to use the men's bathroom inside the lodge. No problem cuz another lady said she'd stand guard for me. fortunately I opted to lock the internal door... imagine my amazement AND the guy's shock when I opened the door and he was using the urinal !!! I swiftly passsed him with a swift "excuse me"..lol. the kamakazi's? well thank Rose for that brilliant idea. why in the heck we didn't start them earlier?? We wiped out the bar of all the shot glesses after round three, I think. And we cleaned out all the peach liquor in the bar I think!!! We really enjoyed your regulars... thank you for the invite for future events. Nothing like a few outsiders to create chaos !!! (by the way, I'm the one that talked with you towards the end of the evening and said thank you for having us)

I had a BLAST Saturday and thanks so much for all your hard work. The food was fab and festival is correct that we ran you out of shot glasses and peach liquor. I can't stop laughing Festival! I should've been guarding the door for you too so I'm sorry! The cute guy at our table that Rose brought over....he spent the rest of the night with 2 other guys. I totally got the gay vibe! Oh well, the peach kamikazes made up for it.

No, I don't think the cute guy was gay. I've been a member of that Post for awhile and damn if I can even think of a cute guy.. now the teeth thing, no biggie, that's pretty typical. Alot with few. Hey, what's got 100 legs and 6 teeth?.... front row at a Willie Nelson concert. ha ha... okay. Enough of my bad jokes. And the bathroom thing, we do it all the time.
