Vince Gill plans acoustic tour

Vince Gill will go the acoustic route on a tour starting in mid-August and ending near Thanksgiving. The tour is being billed as A Special Acoustic Evening With Vince Gill. Accompanied only by pianist Pete Wasner and percussionist Billy Thomas,Gill will present an array of his songs along with some new material. genuine warmth. "In 2006 and 2007, I toured with a 17-piece band so I could reproduce the sounds of These Days, the new album I'd made," Gill said, "And it was a lot of fun. This year, I'm not out promoting a new album so I wanted to do something really different. Recently I saw James Taylor on his tour. It was a kind of one-man band show, with just him, a piano player and all those great songs. I really enjoyed watching it, and I knew I would enjoy performing in that setting as well. So I'm going to tour basically the same way - pared down and informal."

Vince is an avid golfer and loves the desert...
Hope to see him around town with his lovely wife Amy Grant(also an avid golfer)..
They have been known to pop in at night and sing around town...
It should be a fun October in the desert....:)

He played at the Greek last year and I really wanted to go but it conflicted with some other event that I now can't remember. I'm on every mailing list known to man kind on local music venues and I saw this from the LA Phil flyer but I think it's during the week and that makes it difficult for me to go.

You have to see him...
I have seen him in Michigan, Vegas (many times) and all over.He is so amazing.Plays his guitar like no other and very chrismatic....
I told my husband years ago to look out.Then he married Amy Grant...
Well you must come stay with me and go see him my friend....:)
