So, the Olympics are coming...what events are your favorites?

I have a cousin back in Virginia who is one of the top swimmers in that state, we are all hoping he may be a contender in 2012.

Swimming, track and field, and beach volleyball(I went to school with Misty May) are my favorites to watch.

I love watching the swimming! And I still find myself watching gymnastics too. Beach volleyball is a great one too!

i remember watching misty may play at all the games in high school and thinking "damn, this girl is going to be huge", you could just tell she had this ability that was so far above what had been seen before. nice to see it all worked out, haha!

I try and catch a little bit of everything. One "professional" sport I'm not to keen on is boxing but it's completely different in the Olympics and I try not to miss a moment of it.

Whats that silly sport where they broom the ice so the marble weight can slide down the ice and knock each other out?? And they call that a sport....I watch it cuz it is funny!

Curling...that's it? And WHYYYYYY do they call it curling?

I took a badminton class last year at the community college. Everyone around me laughed at me for the whole semester. Those "amateurs" kicked my butt. Not as easy as it looks, but it's fun

Curling - The word derives from the Scots language verb curr, which describes a low rumble (a cognate of the English language verb purr). The word does not take its name from the motion of the stones, although today a stone deviating from a straight-line trajectory is said to curl.

Shuttlecock - The "shuttle" part of the name was probably derived from its back-and-forth motion during the game, resembling the shuttle of a loom; the "cock" part of the name was probably derived from the resemblance of the feathers to those on a cockerel.

golf - The word golf may be a Scots alteration of Dutch "kolf" meaning "stick, "club" and "bat"
Not "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden"
