So, I was thinking about what I regretted NOT doing at Stagecoach this year. I know every year their will be something, here is mine.

I regret not seeing Fogerty after hearing all they good reports

I regret not eating enough, still having anything I can put in a burrito shell to get rid of them, and that's after giving my son 3 packs of them.

I regret not taking my muscle relaxers so my leg did not feel like it was falling off.

I regret not camping in EDI

I regret that I left on Sunday before the big show and missed all the good acts!

I regret that I pitched the tent on Wednesday in all that wind!

I regret not wearing my hiking boots cause my feet were killing me!

Other than that, All was great!

Good ones, but note that these are all ones that you can fix for next year!, well except me seeing Fogerty.

Goals for 2009:

Spend more time with Forum friends!

Spend more time inside listening to music..didn't see enough of the acts this year between nap times and early bed times.

Drink more... brought home too much alcohol... how did that happen!

Is it November yet? I am ready for the new line up!

I regret not taking off work and begin camping on Thursday.

I regret pouring some of my magic into my friend's cup.

I don't regret much actually. Everything that happened made for an unforgettable experience!

kymery...John Fogerty was awesome....I have been a fan of his during the CCR years and as a solo artist. never get tired of him...Now...keep in mind he is still touring....when he makes his rounds back to the US, we'll make a point to see one of his performances. you were able to see acts that we didn't get to see...

I regret all those darn lemon drops which caused the next regret...

I regret missing brunch and Kymery's trailer...

I regret that the fun campers were in ED2, but loved how close ED1 was, so ya'll are gonna have to move over to ED1 next year and we will just break the curfew. Loved the hook-ups. NO generator noise.

I regret not meeting more people from the forum...

Well at least you partied with us the night before and the night after!

I did not hear any generators, maybe it was due to the liquor, but I did not even hear the partiers once my head hit the pillow, and FF's boy toys had a stereo from hell, and still did not hear it.

I am glad I DON"T regret those lemon drops, one was enough for me, I know when to say NO:eek:

festivalfan
05-21-2008, 07:43 AM
ok.. I've been thinking...
here goes....
I regret that I had too many lemon drop shooters on Thursday night, being so hung over on Friday, I was blah all day on Friday..not very social. sorry.
I regret not meeting more forum fans..(GSF...for one :( )
The "boy toys" stereo from hell? Well, I was right next to it...ALL weekend!! I kept wondering where are my wire cutters? I kept turning it down and changing ipod selection. My head was pounding..!! Sorry Kymery..!!
I regret not getting to more of the concerts.
I regret not having my own digs that weekend.....kind of hard sharing space with "20 something" horny guys...never knew what I'd find when I opened the trailer door.. ha ha
I regret taking so much food and liquor, we brought home lots of both.
I regret not having a bike...the walk back and forth was a killer.

What I DON'T regret....

getting there on Wed.....awesome!!
having so much fun,
meeting so many fun people,
loved being able to walk from camp to camp, perfect strangers became great friends, very welcoming.
John Fogerty and Dwight Yokam were my highlights.
Our brunch on Friday,
Being able to say, I'm not a Stagecoach Virgin any more!!! yay

What I regret.....
-Losing my dang keys
-seeing Grant on top of the RV
-Not getting to stay for all of George Jones
-Not being able to meet new people like GSF and KG

What I dont regret...
-Being next to Kymery and FF all weekend!!
-Hanging out with Honkytonk, IHML, Kitty, and their group.
-Letting everyone know that it truly was "magic in a cup"
- Seeing pretty much all other performers I wanted to see

I know, luckily I made both at Stagecoach just for people like you! I don't mind a hint of heat, but love sweet with some hot. At least you are man enough to admit it.

I loved the Vonjon's children that came from London, trying their first burritto EVER!!! One of the twins was a vegitarian and one of them (maybe the same one) loved Hot stuff! He loved it.

Hey, Vonjon, were are you guys? Our favorite, long distance brunch visitors. Hope you got home safely. You wanted to know where to get Tortilla shells since you never even seen them before! You can probably get them off the internet or make them by googling the recipe. Amazing the things we take for granted, mexican food, not in England? hmmmm, I may have something there.

Thankful for:
-PB&J sandwiches
-beer!
-getting to meet EVERYONE I did from the boards - so great!!!

Regrets:
-not getting to meet everyone I wanted to
-not going to Friday's show (although I did take a shower while the Eagles were playing - didn't realize how thankful I was for that at the time! haha)
-not going Thursday to set up camp!

Hopes for next year:
-hanging out with some of the same peeps - and getting to meet some I didn't get to this year!
-that the Forum is closer to ED1 and ED2!
-a great lineup yet again!

Is it time to start thinking about Stagecoach 2009 yet? :)

I regret:

* Indulging too much in Angie's Lemon Drops Thursday night. I hardly drank the rest of the weekend after that!
* Being a dumbass and forgetting my sleeping bag and pillow at my friend's house I stayed at on my way down to Indio
* Not bringing a bike. That walk was disgusting!

Thankful for:

* Everyone I met from here! You guys made Stagecoach AMAZING!
* Knowing a security gaurd that drove me back to the camp grounds after Thursday night. There's no way I would've made it back without Joey!
* The weather not being too rediculous
* Baby wipes

Next year I'm renting an RV and camping out with everyone else. No more walking a mile down a dirt road. Oh, and a wagon to cart everything around in :)

My only regret is not being able to see EVERY performance/artist at Stagecoach.

Other than that I tried to see and do everything possible.

Kymery
05-26-2008, 04:36 PM
I agree Rose, isn't that a bummer? I wish they would start earlier, have an option of more time to see them. I agree that for the money you get a variety of artists to view, but with the time limit, it really is tough.

Hmm...Be carefull what I ask for? one stage...all artists...or three stages, all artists, options of getting closer etc..Ok, for those of us whom had seats, our dream would be one stage, but to be fare...I agree with the several stages

Remember the year before was 3 stages,,real, real, real tough to see them all! Three was still hard, I missed several performers unfortunatly due to the overlappeing.

abra
05-26-2008, 07:49 PM
there's a really valid point in there.... what we have is already fantastic. BUT it's so good, you just don't want to miss a thing. i agree... 3 days and i still felt like i didn't get around to see enough. there's just SO MUCH! ultimately, seeing jack ingram was worth missing B&R for me, but you just to hate to miss any part of such an awesome event. just can't get enough stagecoach!!!

GeorgeStraitfan1
05-26-2008, 08:35 PM
I get so upset when I think about how I LET the weekend go by so fast!! KYMERY! I agree totally, start earlier and maybe more time between artists and their performance!! That way their is no stress on choosing. Makes you feel sad, and guilty that you missed one so you could see the other! '07 was 2 days, this year was 3 days!! They are slowly getting the fact we need more time!! Maybe next year will be 4 days!!??

Kymery
05-27-2008, 05:53 AM
Yeah, but last year it was 4 stages in 2 days, this year it was three stages on three days. I missed some really good performances, to see some really good performances. I understand this is the idea of a Festival, but I notice that many other festivals have all the acts on just one stage, take Country Thunder for example. You dont miss one act at that one. BUT, as I said, the smaller stages are awesome if you get there early enough and get up close and personal....hmmm

Rose
05-27-2008, 08:52 AM
You just don't want to miss anybody. At the Grand Ole Opry museum in Nashville they had an exhibit for George Jones and then at the Musicians Museum in Nashville they had an exhibit for Glen Campbell. I was proud to say that I saw them at Stagecoach.

I don't know how we did it but we left the hotel room with empty bottles. Somehow we planned the booze perfectly for Stagecoach.

I didn't get so lucky on vacation. I forget that you can't purchase alcohol on Sundays in Georgia, Tennesse, Mississippi or Kentucky. I also forgot that you have to go to a "package store".

Kymery
07-15-2008, 08:13 AM
Yeah, Red Cups are an icon of sorts. It is the party cup. Basically when you are tailgating...pre-partying at a concert, you pour your drink into these red cups so you are not holding and showing the liquor you are drinking..kinda a way to politely mask the alcohol from others...ie: the police! Not that they dont know..duhh.

Red cups are not even allowed in any of my daughters sorority pictures!! Due to what the status is meant on them

When people on this board were asking why it says no alcohol allowed in the campgrounds for Stagecoach, I just kept saying to use a red cup..so now it is sort of a blown up joke on this board. But we are having fun with it. At the Toby Keith concert last weekend it was funny when everyone showed up at my trailer with a bag of red cups! Even on of our board members found a t-shirt that has one on it!

They are "officially" known as Dixie cups since that is name/brand that makes them but now are available in generic (cheaper) brands....they are disposable and come in a few colors but red is the official party color (maybe it was the first color they came out with??)....handy cuz they can be stacked next to the keg as most of us learned in high school/college....:D A great way to keep things classy..hehe ;)
