Any plans for anyone, concert wise, or otherwise this weekend?

We are going to Collective Soul at Fantasy Springs in Indio, maybe hitting the local bars afterwards, we are staying at a hotel close to Neils and Tack Room.

Has anyone seen Collective Soul, either in person or TV? I saw them on TV with a full orchestra behind them, omg, what a show!! That got me hooked, although I had always listened to them. I know they are not countr, but with 4 boys and a girl between 14-22 you listen to a lot of music at the track.

I hope they have that again when we see them, we were fortunate enough to get awesome VIP seating, they had great prices!!

Sorry that I live so far away because I would join you and your hubby again in a heartbeat. What a fun night and I'm still giggling about the drunk guy that danced laying on the floor. It's such a cute place. The only thing I would of changed, playing a little bit of pool too. I still can't believe that the chef came out and took our order plus served us herself. She was a really good chef. I really enjoyed the "trying to impress" bonus food. yum

Here in Torrance they have an Armed Forces Day parade each year - so I'll be at that with my mom, Grandma, and nephews. Makes for some fun eye-candy sometimes! :) So that's where I'll be Saturday.

Sunday - not sure yet.

Rose - HAVE FUN! Memphis and Nashville are fun!!! Some GREAT bars on Broadway in Nashville!!! I think the 2nd Fiddle was my favorite - although next time I'm there I have to check out other ones - you know, so I can REALLY judge my favorite! :)

Every other Saturday there is a guy named Charlie Brown (yes thats his name), he dredges right below the Cattle Canyon Bridge, right in the middle of the river, right under the bridge. Old Biker dude, grey hair, grey beard. This is his dredging partner, they both watch it. He will send you to where you need to go and you will get gold. Just tell him Robbie told you to ask him.

He is there right now, but won't be there tomarrow, he thinks this is his off weekend.

I should've stopped when you left too...I went and had another 1 or 2 so by the time my husband got there (11:45- darn it!) I was a bit "dizzy" and in need of food desperately. We had to get Sam from work at 12:15 so I trully passed out the minute my head hit the pillow and didn't wake up till almost 8...a good & much needed sleep for me!

We need to pace ourselves a bit better...lol!

Sunday I will take off to Memphis Tennessee and go to Graceland the home of Elvis for a couple of days. Off to Nashville (music row) for a couple of days then Hazard Kentucky. :D

Yes, Joe is my friend that you met at Stagecoach. He thought you guys were super nice. He's a DJ (mostly country) on the side and we had to hook up with DJ Rick and say howdee for a brief moment. That was the problem at the festival...there was soooo many people to navigate through to just give a moment of time to all our friends who showed up.

We bragged so much about last year that many people had to check it out this year. I think it's going to be over the top for 2009.

My weekend was really relaxing! Went to visit my folks in St. George, UT. I'm still getting used to the fact that they retired out there and now I have to travel to see them. It was 102 at 8 PM last night.....I thought it would be cooler here, but doesn't seem like it!

I was hot... but life was put into perspective this week-end... Finding out that my dear high school friend passed away from Type I Diabetes.. He was a Pastor and a young man at only 42 years old....
Then only to open my e-mail this morning and read the news that the Vice President of my part time travel agency lost her battle with (small cell cancer), she only had 6 months to battle and lost her battle at 2:43 a.m. yesterday morning... Her husband (who was looking forward to celebrating their 21 wedding anniversary in two weeks) is setting up a foundation and the web-site will be up at the end of the week... www dot killcancer dot com..

I tell you this because I can no longer be a social member of these boards.. For those of you I made friends and for any others you can send me a direct e-mail or through myspace... As this is my final post until StageCoach is ready to rock Coachella again...

As having my own demons with cancer I know how precious life is.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about Doug's service. I battled with the decision to go, but in the end I am very glad that I did. Eric Kimball, Mike Hauso, Kristi Lewis Rosales, and Ian MacGregor were some of the classmates I saw. The service was very nice; his family did a wonderful job. All of his siblings gave an eulogy and mentioned good friends from high school like Eric, Mike Dunlap and Jason Cota. There were some laughs and some tears but all in all it was a good afternoon. The family was very open as to how and why Doug left us so early in life and basically it was due to his Type-I diabetes. He was diagnosed after high school and since has had 2 kidney transplants and one pancreas transplant. He was actually on the transplant list again for another pancreas, for the last two years I believe, but his body did not hold out for the possibility of that one. Where Doug was a very proud and stubborn guy, he also was just as stubborn to not admit that he had a disease (this came from his family). So, he really didn't treat his body right with respect to living with Type-I diabetes. He would manipulate his insulin to fit his lifestyle. There was also open discussion from the family about Doug's fall into drugs. It almost consumed him and thankfully due to his strong family, they helped to pull him out of it and he began attending Set Free Ministries in Cabazon. It is a ministry centered around helping recovering drug addicts and Doug ministered for them until his death. He was clean for at least 10 years before he died and loved nothing more than trying to help others find strength through God and worship to overcome drugs and addiction. He would often help those who most people would rather forget and it was apparent that he was dearly loved by many. Even when he was very ill, he still would minister to those via phone or when he could find a ride to the center as he was too ill to drive himself.

Some of you know that Leslie was not only our vice president but she was also my wife of 20 years and our anniversary is in 2 weeks.

Yesterday morning at 2:30 AM Leslie Bauer (Leslie S.) died of cancer. She fought it valiantly for the last 6 months but this terrorist within took over her body and killed her, despite chemo, whole brain radiation and many other attempts.

I will share some great experiences of her life in a future e-mail. We are setting up a Kill Cancer Foundation to combat this deadly form of cancer (Small Cell cancer), the site will be www.killcancer.com and will be up by the end of the week.

I lost the love of my life. We lost a great vice president.
