I really liked her, sang great, but I will say, she was a bit "robotic", very staged.

I thought she outsang everybody this weekend. She reminds me of Jennifer Neddles as far as hitting all the notes in person which isn't that common anymore with all the "studio stuff".

I also have to say, that her outfit was a bit out there, very poppish, the hooker boots were a bit strong....? But, she looked good for the hubby to stare at. Guess thats what its about.

Well I'll be honest and tell you that I passed out during big and rich and didn't wake up until Carrie played Paradise City and that was pretty cool. Stagecoach is about partying with a little music mixed in. Too much fun.

Yeah the hooker boots were a bit much but I thought she sang really well. I was lucky enough to see her at the Grand Ole Opry when they asked her to be a member. She was great that night and she was great at Stagecoach!

She sure has blossomed since AI. She has some legs goin on there that girl does. Definite eye candy. I wasn't there, but I'm sure she did the hooker boots justice. Those were definitely targeted at the males in the audience. Keep 'em comin back for more. LOL Kind of like Tim and the tight, hot lookin jeans. When I saw him six years in a row, it wasn't ALWAYS to hear his music. Some of it was motivated by just wanting to enjoy and drool over the eye candy. I think once at the Mid-State fair, my girlfriend and I decided to cut costs and have a few strong drinks before we got there (since we were staying at a hotel right across the street and could walk there). The music was a jumble, and I couldn't tell you exactly what songs he played, but I remember that arse. :p

I liked her singing, I thought she was a little reminder of a past britney spears with the outfit. I was much more impressed with taylor swift.

Taylor's big right now. She played at the Go-Fest last year. She walked right by my friends and I with and entourage in tow. At that point I had to say, "She must be somebody!" She exploded after that.

She's got a beautiful voice that's her strong point. I would hate for her to start trying too get choerographed and turn in to something she's not. Second time i've seen her, same boots, go figure!

Did you see her on the ACM's? She made her music real poppy...very dissapointing, but that is what the labels will do for money. It was very cheoreographed to say the least.

Missed that too. That's too bad, guess they've got records to sell. I was mainly referring to her live shows. I don't know if I liked her rendition of "paradise city" either. She should rock out to something that suits her a little better.

Yeah, that was strange huh? Paradise city, of all the songs, not that its a bad song, i like it, but not from her.

Jason Aldean covers GNR too. I guess they should tour together.

Very few bands will stick to what they are known for. Those that do often have limited success. It is a business after all. You have to appeal to the masses, not the few. Remember KZLA went away not because they weren't one of the most popular radio stations in L.A., but because going the direction that they did would impact a bigger market size. Bigger market equals more $$$. Many clubs in Hollywood/L.A. are either pay to play or will not hire bands that play original music. Some places will only hire cover bands. What is the music world coming to?
Okay, I've stepped off my soapbox. :o

Just curious as to why everyone is so hard on all these artists. If it's not one thing it's another. Seems like there is an awful lot of criticism for someone who has really come into there own. Did she do anything right? I've seen her and think she does a great job!

Well, I love Carrie and pretty much all the other artists present. Tim had an off night but he's human and will survive.

I agree with you 100%. Carrie sang better/more pure than ANYBODY the whole damn weekend. People may have been jealous that she is young and can dress the way she wants to in hooker boots and "damn!", get a way with it, it's all just simple jealously. I dare anybody to walk up on stage and

1. Look better
2. Sing better

I'm just saying

I thought all the artist's ( with the exception of Tim) rocked. They all have their strength's and weaknesses, but that's what makes each of them unique. I think we just get so used to radio and CD'S/Ipods that we expect everyone to sound like that. I know that ALMOST everyone( artiststs)that came last weekend gave 110% and I definately appreciate it.

I don't relly think that people are jealous, I think that she just might not be there style. This is a though biz and i'm sure Carrie understands that not everyone loves her( after all she did survive American Idol, right?). Besides people paid money to see her and are entitled to their opinions weather you agree with them or not.

She was so stunning and her voice amazing. I never cared about seeing her before and I'm so glad I had this chance to give her music a try live. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!

Carrie was alright but she was very boring compared to the electric Big & Rich (who went before her). In my honest opinion, I thought Carrie was much better than taylor swift who I was not impressed by

Two completly different singing styles hard to compare the two don't you think?

:) Carrie was everything I thought she would be and more. I pretty much liked all the preformers. I think Taylor Swift is a really cute and nice girl, but not a fan of her stuff. And it seems to be all about flipping the hair around. Carrie has a much better vocal range. Mind you that is my opinion.

Kind of like my long winded review of the show I saw the other night (See two new acts to watch for - Brian Stace and Matt Cline). The female singers had a great voice, but performance was lacking. The two bands were very different too. Someone like Big and Rich are more about performance and less about solid music. That's not to say that their stuff is bad, but if you really break it down, there is a difference in the quality of the lyric, the solidness/tightness of the band performance and the quality of the melody (like is the melody unique or did they steal if from somewhere else and patch it together). Funny 'cause since I've been around music a lot more lately, I have actually become more aware of the differences.
I think when we discuss things, we should stop comparing and judging and be aware that our preference might dictate how we perceive the performance. There are some people that down right stink and others that just aren't our thing.
I think I'm sounding like a broken record.

Yes the hair flipping was too cute...
All the girls loved her...
