I could tell just by looking that those spots were way under 1000 square feet and many were different sizes.

I'm not really sure what happened in ED1 but I ended up staying with some friends and they snagged spots there Thursday night by the entrance in the back row and we had some friends meet us thereFriday AM. We had 4 spots and had a ton of room. It's all about timing and finding the right spots. Showing up on friday night and expecting everyone to be "playing by the rules" is a bit much to expect in my opinion. Sucks that some people paid for spots that they didn't get to use. The logisitics of parking all those RV's in the perfect places is darn near impossible. There were a ton of spaces available Thurdsay night and all day Friday. My opinion is that people didn't plan very well to be showing up Saturday AM. I took Friday and Monday off work back in December. Theres a reason they opened ED1 on Wednesday. It's not going to get better next year. There will be more people and more people will know how and what to do to get the good spots.

I agree, it IS possible, as I said, go to the
Country Thunder website, https://www.elevate.com/boxoffice/index.cfm?eid=783 click on the Camping icon, then click on the RV section to park in then just look at how they sell their RV spots. Obviously they have it right. This is only the 2nd yr for Stagecoach, and they need to learn how to make sure the spaced accomodate the right size rv's for the pop outs etc.

It would only take 30 hrs to get there by car, and 40 by rv!!

But notice how they also already have their line up and times, and the empty spots they not TBA...and 5 days! Oh damn, I would die!!! three days was rough enough, but I am not sure I agree with their headliners, you would think they would have bigger names.

The sites were a joke and people were pi$$ed. We made the best of it of course. They really need to consider that some people have MONSTER size RV's with slide-outs which invade on their neighors so-called site. When you combine the slide-out on one side with the awnining on the opposite side you really need a wider site. Oh well, more to learn from for next year.

I heard they oversold the ED1 camping by 70 spots! (How do you do that?) And then they made all the spots smaller to try to make up for their oopsy!

I arrived Thursday at about 7 and the guy parking us was packing us tighter than sardines in a can. We were trying to park and pop out, so we would have just enough space, but he made us pop down and repark 3 times. We rented an RV and it was delivered by the RV rental so we didn't have to use all that fuel =). But we were so close, we couldn't open our cargo area without it touching our neighbor's pop out, and there was definately NO ROOM FOR ANYONES AWNING. We were pretty pissed.

A few hours later I was watching people pretty much park themselves, just behind me. I passed by the parking guy saying "f**k it, let them park themselves".

The next morning I woke up early, went running with my husband and checked out other people. It seemed really inconsistent, and most people seemed to at least have space for their awnings. Our neighbor helped us move the RV across the alleyway to open area on the other side, we took our pigtails with us, popped out, put up our awning and found others to park close, but with just enough elbow room to be comfortable. Our neighbors were able to then spread their motorhomes out 3 spread out where there had previously been 4 and everyone got their awning out. Once we got our space we were great for the rest of the weekend, but I know anyone who came in Friday Night or later probably had a lot of trouble! Needs to be improved for next year.:(
