View Full Version : Tim McGraw - thoughts.... Did he have a clue he was at Stagecoach???

I've rarely seen a headliner so disconnected from the audience. He actually didn't know where he was or what the event was - although he knew he was in California and had a long plane ride back tonight. IMO the performance was half hearted at best - and at worst he looks like he partied too much before starting the set. Sad compared to last years finish!
I thought the Eagles was the low point of a major headliner just playing their normal set - great graphics - low energy accept you could tell they didn't really like each other - but knew where they were and how to do their job - McGraw set a new standard for where am I and how do I get out of here quicker - His set started almost 20 min late - yet he 'finished' at the time scheduled. The earlier part of the evening tonight was nothing sort of outstanding .....
just a late night after two hours of driving ramble....

Yes i would have to agree. Tim was not on his game. Totally dissappointed, was really looking forward to him. And that thought that I could have gotten a few more hours of shut eye if I had known that he was gonna just go through the motions, not to mention, not knowing the words to his songs and singing the same verse TWICE.
Overall though, the weekend was great!!! Can't wait to find out who they dig up for next year :o

I agree that Tim was not on his game...I have seen him several times and he was not himself. Before everyone starts condeming him though, he is human and from where we were sitting, we all thought he looked like he was fighting a cold or maybe allergies! His voice was off when he spoke and then the other things that were mentioned. There was so much, what looked like sand and dust, coming from behind the stage and I would imagine because of the wind it was tough on the performers. Tim seems to be such a professional, that I would wait to throw such stones...but that is just my opinion.

I agree about the Eagles. ;) They could have phoned that one in. I'm a long time Eagle fan and have flown all the way to Scotland just to see them perform. Friday was a major disappoint for this fan. Absolutely no interaction with the audience. Every move seemed by rote. Maybe there was something going on behind the scenes. Wasn't the usual majic that's for sure.

Guess he would have started sooner if both Underwood and himself would have been less concerned about the photographers not shooting first song set....
I think Big and rich were the only ones that had an opener and went on long to create a back up ....
Wow the line to get in to take photos was fun....
Actually a great crowd just trying to do there job....
The highlights had to be the girl telling us she was Jenny Craig's daughter and she should be able to get in before any photographers...
That was hyestrical...:D

Well I enjoyed all the acts and yes we all have our days.......the only thing I didn't get was that tim waved - no encore on the final night???? and alsooooooooooo maybe that jenny craig daughter was the same bimbette that needed to push people out of the way at the dwight yoakum show - sad day that some people thing they are sooooooo awesome they should be rude to others!! Think maybe next year should be only full weekend tickets - keep out some of the riftraff!!!!!!!!!! Overall the crowd was well behaved but did notice the police were working a bit harder then last year ~smile~ Thank you officers!!

You are so right..
Another classic was the lady I said excuse me to having no other way out but to ask politely if I could step over her purse she so politely place in front of her so no one could walk out of her isle....
After saying excuse me please may I step over your purse to exit..
She so stoutly stated that this was not an exit but her own area...
&*%^...
Ok I said well it's either the lady in front of your's head or your purse...
I did not know they were selling deeds of land there..
Guess that old ingress egress is a good law to have when over demanding people are invlved....
The good thing is there are allot more kind sweet people then those that obviously are off there meds to drink....
I take that back those individuals are probably self centered all the time...
Wow...

Horse,
I wonder if the girl who said she was Jenny Craigs' daughter was the same scammer who said she was a producer from the Dr. Phil show on Friday night. She tried to chat me up because I had a front row seat and would be her go-to person if and when security questioned her. Of course, I blew her off knowing full well a producer for Dr. Phil would be stage side with the other VIPS.

Tim McGraw was going through the motions last night. He did not put on his typical show that he normally does. He did the bare bones minimum to fulfill his obligations. I was totally disappointed that he ended our great weekend. He threw lemons at his stage hands, poured water on his drummer and "yes" I do believe that he may have been sick. He should have told "us" the crowd that he didn't have his "A" game. That would have given him the out. Instead we all feel cheated. "I still love Tim McGaw" that will not change.
I LOVE Tim Mcgraw, and he was the main reason we decided to go to StageCoach and pay extra for reserved seats. So when he came out to a song No one had ever heard of I wasn't even sure if he was really starting or not. Then I kept wathcing him thinking wow he looks like he's been crying, then it hit me- he was completely lit! Allergies? I don't think so. I was disappointed to say the least. He never really got the crowd going at all and even forgot lines to his song (actually that was kind off funny).Did anyone else notice how he left the stage and than came back and said that crap about only having to catch a plane, he sounded upset that his time wasn't up yet and had to play more. And as soon as that hour was up he ws gone. Do you think he could have been upset with GoldenVoice for something(maybe that Prince got 4 million last weekend)? I know he's only human and everyone has off days but not the expected a lot more from my favorite country artist.

Missed the lemons thing, being that I was watching the screen from my vantage point.
Yeah still love him, and yes communicate, we will all understand and respect you and maybe even feel sorry for your cute ass. I would have been more than happy to go backstage and take care of him in Faith's absense.
I was surpised that there was little interaction with the audience. It looked like his show was on fast forward with no time for comerical breaks. Almost like the clock was ticking and he had to get in his agreed to number of songs and then bolt.
In his defense, it was chilly, windy and very dusty. maybe he took alergy medicine? It makes me loopy..

The stories were getting pretty deep in the pit front of stage...lol...
It actually was entertainment for the most...
I told Jenny's daughter I knew how she felt..I was Tony Robbins sister and Obama's neighbor and I also should be let in before her..
She asked me before that if I was paparazzi..
My self and the great gal I met about fell over laughing...:D
They must have been drinking around the fire figuring out there stories and who's would get them inn...

Now that's funny! You should have asked for her Jenny Craig ID or more likely wristband.

I completely agree with this post. We were sitting next to two ER nurses who commented the second he hit the stage how tore up he was. My aunt went and saw him a few months ago in Vegas. She said he was tanked at that concert and hoped he'd redeem himself to her at Stagecoach, needless to say.. that didn't happen. I'd give him the allergy thing but even those meds don't make you forget the words to songs you've sung over and over. And as far as having to catch a plane.. come on now.. how long has he been booked for Stagecoach? could he not make later travel arrangements? I've looked forward to seeing Tim for a long time and was disappointed to say the least!
We saw him and Faith at Soul 2 Soul last summer and it was awesome, maybe she needs to be at all his performances.

Horse,
I agree, we were all tearing up from the darn wind and all the sand blowing around. By the second hour we were there we were all hiding behind our cowboy hats. Quite a few artists had trouble that day. If you noticed Gretchen, Carry & Tim were all having trouble with the wind/sand and tearing up with the rest of us. Didn't anybody notice that during Tim the wind was so strong that it blew the sound guard down around the drummer and they had to dismantle it during the concert. I sure hope he didn't get hurt.

told you guys that dust gets nasty! i came well prepared with my bandana and added some visine to the mix the last couple weekends!
there is a condition known as the "coachella flu" that seems to happen to a lot of us each year. this year i combated that by staying hydrated, used my bandana, and the visine...came out pretty much unscathed...also shied away from alcohol this year. the biggest cause of all the crappy feeling seems to be the drinking, though. dehydration just destroys people at events like that.

Oh my gosh.....was just telling hubby today that Tim totally s**ked last night. I remember last year, and the place was almost 1/2 empty for Kenny and he tried his hardest to get everyone riled up. Then you have Tim, who still has a packed house and he goes through the motions, tries to come off the stage after playing for 40 minutes, gives us a few more songs and just leaves. He played longer at Soul 2 Soul when he was sharing a concert with Faith. Doubt I'll ever go see him again.......it was such an awesome weekend and he ended it abruptly and rudely.
Will definitely be back for next year........was so glad to see so many more people there this year. Big and Rich and Dwight Yoakam were my picks for the "Rock the house" award!!

Tim Mcgraw was drunk. Friend gave us mane stage passes and went backstage and there was no fan interaction at all. Security guards moved barricade back about 4 ft and when people where asking he said, this is not even the amount of room he wanted between him and his fans. We went back out to our seats and saw him on the screen and told my husband Tim Mcgraw is so tanked! I looked forward to seeing him in concert and it was a let down.
Backstage means just that, backstage where everybody is "WORKING". It has nothing to do with meeting an artist, getting anything autographed or having fun. Backstage is not for any fan. If you want to be a fan and are looking for "the party" then be out front for the show.
Lizzy
05-05-2008, 08:28 PM
I know that but there was a barricade by the stairs going up to the stage and there were plenty of small kids who were fans and hoped to take a picture or get an autograph. i had the bracelet and went back so my husband could see carrie underwood, heck he was happy just to see her that close. I just think regardless of backstage, or even those who forked out the big bucks for gold circle or reserved, he and every other artists should keep it real and shake some kids hands, do a couple of autographs.. Halfway to hazard was great to their honorary "Daisy". It was nice to see an artist make a kids day.
I agree that the show is up front, we went back for a few minutes and went out and watched the show and had a great time
I can't agree with you more Lizzy. The little ones should get attention from all the stars/artists. H2H were AWESOME with Daisy and that made everybody feel very warm and happy that they took the time to make that little gals day.
I'm not defending anyone but if you think about it...I'm sure Tim McGraw did that for a many of little girls way back when. It's probably at the point for him now or any big artist to think, I spend so much time with kids that are dying in hospitals that I don't have enough time for the ones whom are healthy and doing well. My friend who joined me for the concert from Big Bear just started crying like crazy (cowboy's don't cry) for a little girl who sat behind us and had no hair and you could just tell she had Cancer. I kept asking if he was O.k. but it really bothered him that somebody so young was sick. My EXACT words to my friend was....She is sky-diving and Rocky Mountain Climbing.

I heard that he does not go through the crowd putting his hand out anymore because of the incident where his ring was stolen, some people are sick and ruin it for others.
I knew what to expect afterthe the thread I had posted about backstage passes and many said their experiences. I do relalize that if he did it for every kid he would prob never make it home!
I hope the girl you were the girl you are talking about had a good view, there were many people in wheel chairs or chair bound that had their view blocked by inconsiderate people, but then again it is a festival and what else can you expect but everyone wanting to dance their asses to great music!! I know I prob lost about 5 pounds from dancing...

I think the point and disappointment w/ Tim is NOT that he looked like he'd been crying, nor that he was late. I even understand this keeping his eyes closed b/c of the wind. It was more how he walked off after 4 songs waving goodbye seemingly lost, or that he forgot the words to his song. I thought the fact he didn't sing an ancore, showed someone else wasn't letting him back out.. I've NEVER been to a concert where the main artist DIDN'T come back out. Good looking or not, I think it was plainly obvious he was on something. Yes an artist CAN be judged for that as this is the job they've chosen to get paid to do, and WE pay them!

Well said Glock Girl. I don't care whose hero he is, but we ALL paid big bucks and stayed to the bitter end for him to pull that. He could have said he was under the weather, a little tipsy or just plain drunk. But to just walk off and then come back out (actually looking bummed out that he had to) was not right. He was SOOOO pumped up in Anaheim and just kept on playing until the fans had had enough. I just thought it was a downer ending for a very successful evening........Big and Rich would have been more appropriate to close the show with how they got everyone (like them or not) fired up.
Just my .02........I think the organizers need to make sure that whoever the closer is on Sunday night be a little more into it.......Kenny Chesney did a great job last year.

My quick two cents, since I am sore, lost my voice and am swamped with work.
HE SUCKED.. You know, he may of been sad, drunk, sick, dissapointed, whatever the issue....he took it out on us! The ones who sign his paycheck basically.
He just walked out, started singing, no intro, no nothing!! Guess he feels he has a right to treat his fans like he did.
George Jones, was awesome, played, and the audience was louder than the mane stage, and HE APPRECIATED IT!! Same for Dwight.
An excuse for sick?...no way, when I saw George Straight a few years back, he was so sick, no voice but gave us a small show, then apologized and we all got a new concert a month later at NO CHARGE, now that is class.
I waited three days, of walking miles and mile to see him as the last show and wanted to leave with a WOW factor....NOTHING!!
As for the inconsiderate dorks that stood in the VIP isles, what the heck! That was plain rude, also as for the security, they would clear and they would come back, I know that many, many people could not see the stage, me included because two 12 yr olds had to stand (they were isle front row) and they just wanted to be rude, no one in front of them, and mom told them it was ok..yeah, she was a winner also. They weren't even dancing etc, they just did it to be rude.

I agree with you, catch a plane? we said the same thing, schedule accordingly, and IF YOU WOULD OF BEEN ON STAGE ON TIME YOU WOULDNT OF BEEN RUNNING LATE.
Come on guys, these bands are to play, rain or shine, they know there is wind...did anyone see the guys they sent up to the rafters to work the lights, swinging on them, they were crazy, stayed up there the whole time Tim was up (ok, not long...ahahaa) Put some glasses on then! sheesh, this is the windy part of the desert!!!!

Cooter,.. over the past year I've been on your side of the fence on many topics. I haven't read much since returning from Stagecoach so I'm not sure if you went this year. If you did, what was YOUR impression of Tim?
i was home in bed by the time tim came on due to the wind beating me up, so i wasn't there to see him. i was there all weekend, though. i have been to well over 400 concerts in the last 12 years or so and have seen plenty of artists on their "off" days. it is what it is and these guys are bound to break down every once in awhile. at coachella there was a performer, who happened to be one of the most looked forward to by many, who packed the largest tent and then proceeded to complain about the sound the whole time. she only got through 6 songs over her 50 minute set. sure we were all disappointed, but hey, what can you do?

I expected alot more from him, not impressed at all. I hope there was something wrong that made him sing his own song WRONG and just plain out acted like he didn't want to be there.

I think sound and wires being off is one thing- I think we all know that stuff isn't up to the performer, I think however coming to the stage intoxicated is another. His lack of interaction to the audience was a bummer. I'm not completely done w/ Mr McGraw, if he came back I'd give him another shot--- I was just disappointed in what he brought to Stagecoach and was interested in knowning I wasn't alone in what I thought of him.

Well it is a sad day when fans turn on having a bad day ....:o
After shooting many celebrities animals over the years.
I would not want there job for anything my friend so people thinking there in there lives and know everything about them...
How would want to know about someone else's life unless they had none of there own......
I just look at all of them as human with a job to do ...
Man your a tough crowd hat for you to be my boss....
The day you think this world is perfect is the the day you obviously are dissapointed.....
Yes working in this Field is demanding as an artist and you will never please anyone..
Some people want to have a good time and dance while others think it rude..The young think if your sitting your old..
Go figure everyone has a voice...
Your opinion is valid and so is the voice of the other person....
The sad part is the compassion and empathy thats missing in this world for others thru thoughts of validity in this life to be important more then others....
Well thats what makes it a show my friends....
Just watching the different people is hysterical....
The ups the downs the can't wait to start the story someone I saw was drunk cuz God knows it makes people not in the spotlight feel important...
Yes everyone is important the fan the artist but most of all the respect you show for others differences.....
Not saying Tim has always never been on stage 100% as a performer...
Yet the guy is amazingly talented and my hats off to him and a wish for a speedy recovery back to energized stage presecnse...
Oh and I wonder what time penalty Golden Voice had to pay after a certain time playing over what was contracted?
I know at horse show venues it's alot of money...
I think there is always more to any situation then the normal Joe will ever know...(besides Entertainment Law Attorneys)
That entertainment info business is more then what ya hear from a friend or see with your own eyes and makes you sure ya know the whole story.....
So bring on the hear say I'm sure they would love ya in there fan base....
I will say it was hard not ending on a high note but come on if he did not ya wouldn't have something to talk about today......
I'm starting to like Cooter more and more......:D

He was the final day headliner - the show stopper - the honor spot - the one we wait for and stuck in a locked camp ground get home at 4am in the morning for - and while everyone can have an off day - they generally know how to acknowledge it to their fans - and know where the heck they are.
Sick, Flu, Voice, worry or immediate hurt in a family are not a matter of choice - that happens - Drugs, Drunk, altered state - are a choice. I know I will never buy a ticket to see him again - simply because he didn't give a s++t about the audience Sunday night and it will happen again.
It's not Goldenvoice's fault - although they "may" have paid him a bundle to be there - it lays squarely on McGraw - I too have been to many 100's of concerts (ok, I've got a few more years then many of you :D ) and never seen such a total collapse. I will find the address of his agent - and if possible where where McGraw may actually read his own mail and send the Fed Ex so it gets opened. His behavior and lack of caring simply wasn't ok.

Maybe if Big & Rich wouldn't have hogged the stage for 2 hours and threw in Cowboy Troy, Tim would have had more time to play. I have seen Tim McGraw about 5 or 6 times because I love him and yes he was off but that does not change the fact that I love him as an artist. I was still singing and dancing through his whole performance and I look forward to seeing him again.

We were able to take 5 chairs this year so a lot of people did leave early. Then again that happened last year too. I don't know why it's a California thing to do is leave a ball game early or a concert early to beat the traffic. I always stay to the very end and get my money's worth.

Excuse me for not being Pollyanna and singing Kumbaya, but I am an extremely positive person......just disappointed to have had to wait for, and sit through the most disheartened and bored performer that I have ever witnessed (I too have been to over 100 concerts).....Big and Rich summed it up best when they said, with the gas prices at an all-time high and everything so expensive, thanks for coming out and buying tickets to see us and all the other performers. That's country music folks.......not the VIP gold circle people who were "given" seats by Toyota and any other big sponsor. To go out there and not give anything but your best (not asking 100%, just your best) is appalling. As an entertainer, that's your job. It's like going to an expensive dinner that you've saved up for all month, and having a waitress that's having a "bad day" ruin your meal.
Maybe he was sick.....then say something. Maybe he was drunk....then maybe stick to touring with Faith so you don't get out of hand. But at least be a happy, giddy drunk and not a total letdown at the end of a fantastic festival.
That's all I'm sayin'.......

So I was thinking, which usually gets me in trouble the hubby says...but...
IF those of you who "forgive" him and "understand:
If you had bought tickets to JUST HIM, no huge venue, and you took the day off, drove to his venue, paid $20 parking, $10 drinks, food, t-shirts etc, and you sat down and he played 6 songs with no explanaition of why he is acting strange, would you be "ok with it" too? Would you still be happy, understanding, get up, leave the venue and say "wow, he did not look well, but that was amazing" NO WAY.
Tim maybe figured, we had our fill of entertainment and he doesnt care. I paid over $1200 for tickets to see everyone I can, and expect them to "entertain" no excuses. At least Strait has the class to rebook his concerts when hes not feeling well, hmmm but who would admit to being too drunk to sing?

I was disappointed with Tim's show too, but since I have seen him perform amazingly many times before, and since I have screwed up MANY times in my life...I will cut the man some slack on this one. The weekend was so great and there were so many more great things that took place...maybe that would be more fun to chat about!!!

Yes, we're all human - people get sick, etc.... But it's his JOB to be a performer - and I don't know that he did his job the best he could. Someone mentioned if he had SAID something to the crowd about not being on his game completely - he might've been off the hook.
I don't know that Big and Rich "hogging the stage" as some people said would've made a difference. It's not like that would've made his performance BETTER - just longer!?
I enjoyed the songs he did - but he was off. I was hoping for better. But I'd give him another chance. Never saw him perform before - but I've heard he can give some AWESOME concerts - so maybe I'll give him another chance if the opportunity presented itself. :)

The people that should be the most upset is GoldenVoice.. The artists I am sure don't play for free... And I am sure that GoldenVoice expects that they will perform well (although they have no control over the artists and their demands). So maybe you will see an apology from Tim on some sort of official fan page or not.. His official fan page "people" and I am sure he does not frequent these boards... So I'm thinking that whichever Artist you have issues with, you go directly to their official fan-site and voice your opinion.. Maybe we can save other people that would pay to see him live...

Well drunk people usually slur their words... I wasn't there, but my husband was and said that he sounded fine...not enthused... So my gut instinct is that he got some really bad news...either early in the day or before he went on stage and was obligated to give his fans something... If he only sang 6 songs and then left the stage only to come back looking like he did not want to sing anymore it could have been emotional for him, that would explain why he didn't remember some of the words to the songs he has sung over and over again...
A rush to judgement is usually a big mistake... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Professional artists don't do that usually..
I am sure that if he did he personal life would have been on the front page and talked about all over the radio.. It seems that he tried to just get through what he needed to get through... Yes, say something. I have been to concerts that this has happened. He would of received our respect had he just said "hey guys, I know you came a long way, money, time, heat etc, but I was just dealt some news and I will do my best for you...I love you and thank you for coming!! you are the best" Then I would of wondered, by my heart would of went out to him and worried that everything is ok, with his wife, kids etc.
OR..."hey, sorry guys, I am Sh*&^ faced and cant remember my words, so here is what you get"
OR...Like G Strait did, "hey, how is everyone? I am cruddy, very sick, so This is all I can do, I really hope you enjoy and and I am very sorry" (then we got another FREE concert from him a month later!!)

I was very disappointed in Tim McGraw's performance. I have seen him numerous times before and I knew something wasn't right. We had VIP seats close to the stage and the things he was doing (throwing lemons, pouring water on the band, hitting his band members, messing up his lines) I knew that he was messed up-whether it was medication or booze. I told my girlfriend who had never seen him before that not to count this as how he normally performs. I figured he had a night away from the wife and kids (fly in- fly out) so he was partying it up with the boys while he could. Just a bummer to end the great weekend with a late and short performance from him. Kind of spoiled it.

I agree... That is why I suggest that everyone flood his official site and tell them how you feel... If enough tell him their thoughts he might be compelled to explain himself and take responsibility for his actions..

Elvis Presley Enterprises typically brings in 40 million dollars a year 31 years after his death. I don’t know what was up with Tim. We were close enough to see him without the aid of the jumbotron. He really (in my opinion) didn’t look as bad up close as he did on the screens. I don’t know why. I have been to enough concerts to know that artists will occasionally mess up. They come in late on a song, duplicate a verse or forget words. Tim did make some mistakes. He did seem low energy. I however have not seen him perform before so that is just an opinion. The wife saw him sucking on lemon slices. I could see his eyes were watering. He at one time almost stepped off the stage, but the front black skirting was blowing up and I don’t know if he could tell the difference between the stage and the skirting. I personally don’t want to make the assumption that he didn’t care or was under the influence of something. The only thing I could say is he didn’t look right and I don’t know why. I could probably give 3 or 4 scenarios each way that would explain it. I took his comment about catching a plane that he would rather be at stagecoach than on a plane. I even think that is what he said or at least that is what I remember. Either way everyone has an opinion. I just don’t know and unless or until it is explained to me by someone who does know I will just chalk it up to an off night.

I think the right people just MAY read it. I work in the film industry and when we have a movie coming out, we have people scouring message boards just like this one to hear what the "people are saying." I don't think the fans' opinions, no matter how harsh, would hinder people from playing a future Stagecoach....just shows what areas to improve on.

we are NOT being brutal..read the thousands of threads with great comments, stories of terrific fun, great shows and performers. This is not a group of negative celebrity bashers at all. however, it is VERY clear something was wrong with Tim's performance. Too many people from different vantage points have made the SAME observation. He is a big musician, well known and has a huge fan base. He did let alot of people down, for what ever the reason. I do feel his "people" should know. But I take offense to the statement that Forum fans are negative or difficult to please.

By the time it was his turn maybe everyone was to drunk and tired to realize what was really going on LOL. Maybe if you just sleep on it tonight you might rethink what you have said. I think he did a great job and any Tim concert I've been to goes way to fast because I could stand there for hours and watch him perform, he could sing the yellow pages and I would stand there and watch ;), you all tell me what real fan wouldn't. Can't wait for the tour to start!!!! Look for my videos on youtube, he looked like he was having fun to me...

Maybe that is why Tim look hammered, he had to drink his way thru Cowboy Troy, I know I did!! ahahahaha
I that that was disrepectfull to put Troy out there as an "opener". They were not the headliners.
Ok, I have to address this.
The whole thing with the Muzik Mafia is this: when they started out, just getting together as friends to jam and have fun because they weren't getting anywhere in Music City, they made a pact. If any of them ever made it big, they would reach back and bring their friends along with them.
That's what they're doing to this day. Gretchen made it BECAUSE of the Muzik Mafia. James Otto is coming out now BECAUSE of the Muzik Mafia.
When I saw the 1 1/2 hour time slot for Big & Rich, knowing that they were bringing Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred with them, I knew CBT would be performing a few songs. I can see why people would feel like they had an 'opener', and that maybe it was an ego trip, but for them they were just doing what the Mafia does. They bring their friends on stage with them. They share their time in the spotlight in order to give their friends exposure.
To this day, whenever they are in town on a Tuesday night, they get together and give a FREE Muzik Mafia show. As big as some of the Mafia members have become, they still go out and jam for the audience on Tuesday nights because making music is what they love to do.
I understand that alot of people don't care for Troy's "Hick Hop" and that's fine. We all have our preferences. It just seems to me that if you weren't already a fan of B&R you didn't know what to expect. As a Mafia Soldier I knew exactely what was going to happen. The crowd got into it, so it can't be all bad.
Commercial over.....:D
Tim needs to explain himself. The expectations for him are as high as they are because he has been so good for so long. An off night, really bad news, illness, intoxication, whatever it was it was not what Tim normally does. For that reason alone, I feel he needs to make some kind of statement.

I've seen Sara twice...the first time was at Glenhelen Pavilion in Devore...she was horrible. The second time was last year at Stagecoach and she was wonderful. Musicians are just like you and me, some are good days and some are bad. I still love him even though I was disappointed this time.
Your right....:D
Just came back from a well needed nap...
Lots of work to do tonight...

There is NO way you can compare the heart & soul that Sarah poured on the crowd to the way Tim was having an "off day"..
I've from the beginning of this thread I've stated my disappointment in Tims behavior at Stagecoach & in Vegas, but I've also stated I"ve give him another shot. He has a fabulous voice and usually a great stage presence.. however...
no way can you compare the two..
I would just fall over if this was on extra...
Nope saw it tonight just this thread.....:D

I agree with you Ajax...high or drunk. My friend backstage said they kept taking cases of beer into his trailer...hmmmm he started 20 minutes late and ended ontime. I was bummed. The Eagles and Rascal Flatts both played past 11:15pm.

They really are all humans and have good and bad days - I thought Tim was great!!! I understood what he was singing and I was dancing and I enjoyed - buck up folks - and let us all know when you become perfect!!!!!!! At least he was foul mouthed or anything like shelby lynne - sit back and enjoy!!
i never wanna see shelby lynne again...

I was also bummed out with how TIm left us with the last act of the weekend. My family was in the front row and I was shocked that he ended the night without an oncore!
John Fogerty, Rascal Flats, Gretchen Wilson and Big and Rich and even Carrie Underwood Rocked the place, Incredible performances, dead on volcals! I have to say that the Eagles made me feel like I was in High School agian. Loved that fact that after all these years I still knew all the words to all of the songs they sang!
The other highlight of the weekend was the partys in Eldorado 1... Best weekend of my life, hands down.... Definetly going back next year!

Tim's performance was weak at best. Saw him and Faith at staples last year and what a difference. You know what they say, when the cat's away, the mouse will play. I think maybe next year fewer performers with longer set times. Oh, hello to all! This was my first year and I am a new member here. Hope to make some new friends!

I know boys are so silly when away from there wifes..
Thats why God made Adam and Eve.....
Looking forward to next year..
I also agree 100% on fewer acts more stage time...
It would save running back and forth to shoot so fast and only two songs come on give us other artist a chance to get a great creative shot....;)

Well, I'm bummed that I didn't make it to Stagecoach this year, and I LIVE in California, but I went to see Tim six years running (yes, I had a bit of a thing for him what can I say), and I can tell you that he had his off and his on years. There were years when his opening act blew him away (like Faith one year and The Dixie Chicks), and there were years that he was one of the opening acts and blew the opening act away (George Strait). I know people who are involved in the music industry, and I have come to learn how tough it can be. It's not all glamour and fun and games. It can be down right brutal.

Our weekend ended with Carrie Underwood. Very impressed with her performance. So we left feeling really good about the weekend.
I have seen Tim McGraw in concert and walked away thinking he is NOT a performer, singer yes, performer no.
We left following Carrie Underwood along with 10,000 others.
DWIGHT YOAKAM ROCKED!!!!! He was the reason we were there.
Maybe next time DWIGHT should be considered for the mane stage.
Now he is a singer and a performer.
DWIGHT ROCKS!!!!!

WoW!! Tim must have really had an off performance. When I went to see George Strait years ago, Tim Blew him away. He was so full of energy. Dwight on the other hand when I saw him at The Greek Theatre, just stood there and hardly spoke at all and really didn't connect with the audience. It was right after he finished filming "Panic Room" though, and one of his superfans in the pit with me told me that he got banged up during the filming. He surrounded himself with all these speakers like a blockade to ensure no one could get anywhere near him.

I think your replies have been interesting and a few greatly funny. I also get that you agree Tim was having a bad night... but are you arguing you think he was sober & just having a bad case of the wind in his eyes or are you telling the board to cut him slack on this one drunken performance?

Was there a time limitation on Sunday night? You know, something to encourage people to get the hell out?
I would be really sad to find out that Tim has some type of substance abuse problem. The reason I had such a thing for him was because he seemed like a good overall package, good person, nice looking, good husband, good father, etc. I'm not dumb and no one has a perfectly charmed life. There are always things that go on behind closed doors, but you want to have something to hold onto in this sometimes bleak world. :(

I have to say my first time shooting the music industry I take my hats off to them it's more brutal then chasing baby foals and horses in feilds.....
The Photo Shoot part with all the different rules for each artist and camera's.

I know this is probably a dump question horse but why won't an artist let you take pictures during the first song but let you afterward?
Harry Connick Jr. was anal about no one being able to take pictures at his concert. He even was chastizing cell phone cameras.
It was funny at Stevie Wonder...the security people said you can now take pictures but you have to turn off your flashes...of course I couldn't resist to make the comment, "but how can Stevie tell?". Everyone around laughed.

People look up and see what they think is 'the life', but it isn't all that, and it's hard to stay grounded. Many artists don't, and after they live in that world for a little while, they really don't know what it's like to live in the one we do. Tim had a bad night. Tim is getting older too (as we all are). Sometimes my back hurts getting up in the morning, and I don't have to run all over the stage, etc. There's a difference between having a bad night and downright sucking. He doesn't suck, but he does have bad nights. I would imagine if you were there for three days, you saw something in all that music that was available that made it worth the money.
zoovyvor

P.S. It had to SUCK to go on last on the last day. Both Carrie and Tim probably got the worst of the overdone, overbaked crowd. Also, from what I've witnessed, a number of people leave before the headline because they've had a little TOO much fun beforehand. It's weird. I almost would rather not headline and come somewhere in the middle when everyone is still in their right mind.

I wouldn't quite say it's 'just a job'. What I do is 'just a job'. These guys are doing something that they love and are lucky to have the talent to do. They are just human though not machines. It's easy for us to be out in the audience to criticize, but it's not an easy job. I can understand the audience disappointment though.

How about that so-called forum member that Kymery was so-called rude to speak for themselves if they had a problem? Probably cuz they don't exist. Is my guess. And for someone who's all preachy about being nice and positive you are really throwing out some negative, ugly energy here! Come on now! :)

I think everyone was disappointed with his performance. He definately had something going on allergies, lit whatever. He barely had his eyes open the whole performance and had NO energy. Not what you expect from the biggest star in country music and the #1 headliner.

Hi everyone, this is Doug, Kymery's husband typing now.
I want to say this for the record: When Kymery told me that 70+ people confirmed to come to brunch I was shocked and concerned that she opened our doors as well as her trust in people she never met, but that is her.
I dont really like all this posting but this is her outlet and fun. She works hard, and if this is what she likes, then ok, but, what I am saying is that she came to me and said that some girl said that some people said she was rude, then I had to say something.
People started coming by our camp the minute we showed up, introducing themselves to her and my wife was so greatful to have them do this, take their time out to come say hi. She was so nice to everyone, I saw her smile ALL weekend, and that made me very happy. She and Nancy cooked a great burritto meal that everyone seemed to enjoy. I ended up really having a great time also, after being so worried meeting strangers from on line.
Kymery was invited to many camps to visit, and received texts and phone calls all weekend to meet up with people, if she was so rude, then why were they contacting her (personally I was a bit jealous)
Now to hear that anyone was being treated rude, well, i dont believe that for a minute. IF by fact there is someone, please call her on it. Maybe she did not realize, she was so busy making sure everyone was happy while there, she is that way, never wants anyone to be bored, unhappy, or unwelcome, she invited everyone into our rig up thru Monday morning to just sit and chat.
Now, Horse, you are being very mean and unkind, I just don't get it. What did she do to you? She showed me the post about how your posts look like poetry and that she did want to read them, and that you have one post after another, and how there were others that agreed, but why did you only pick on her? it is if you are jealous, and maybe you should be. Then you comment on my love for her, by rubbing her feet, does your husband do that for you? I love her to death and she means the world to me, and it bothers me that someone talks mean about her.
You should of PM'd her personally, but now she shows me posts where you are calling people Kitties, KooKoo's, insecure, children etc name after name after name. You are the pot calling the kettle black,, look in the mirror. I just dont understand how you have a heart to attack and insult but in many of your posts you brag how you always look at the world in a happy way, explain that?
She NEVER called you a name until you attacked her, horsemouth, sorry, but I had to laugh.
Go back and read her original post, she never attacked you
Sorry to ramble, but I had to stand up and say something.
By the way, to everyone who came over, I also had so much fun, I am usually the type to say "lets have our own weekend, no one else" but this was actually fun and new for me, so thank you! You have shed light on new fun in my life and hopefully we can do it again next year.
Doug
I love it when a man stands by and stands up for his women!
Not that she needed it, but it's still nice.

Doug....thank you for the great post.. and for your heartfelt thoughts. I had a great time planning the brunch with Kymery and meeting everyone. We met some great people, and I'm sure long time friendships have begun BECAUSE of the brunch and from you and Kymery welcoming us to your camp. Thank you. Nancy
