greeting stagecoach fans,
arrived from austin texas (horrible winds) and am so happy to be here. just a heads up for planning purposes......
sites are only 15 feet wide by 50 feet. my sliders just make it with a bit of walkway. where's my tent going to be for my buddies??? needs to be a pup tent.
anyway they should have said 1000 feet or less.
happy trails. happy to have arrived.
boydski
glad to hear you made it safe.
Thanks for sharing the RV'ing info for the folks who will be following you in.

FYI... if you didn't attend last yr. Dont expect the weekend to b perfect. there was sooo much confusion last yr and they seem just as unorganized this year. The stress is way worth it though, just remember to breath and have a great time! & be polite!

Kymery seems to be one of the nicest people u"ll ever want to meet. She was here last year.
But the truth is some of the parking 'police' are not very nice.

Thank you!!! Beleive me I am telling the hubby to shut his trap!! but you gotta hear and see the kaos here! this is horrible! Last year it was smooth sailing. I swear the truth when I say it took 45 minutes to park 4 rv's next to us!!! BUT WE FINALLY LUCKED OUT...we got the HUGE brunch area for us! out new neighor if unhooking and the whole middle between 5 rigs is open!! Cant beleive it!! phewww.
We are camped about 4-5 rv's from the opening in then fence to the dirt road that takes you to the entrance., and in the very first road...flag is going up as I type.
Festival is 10 minutes away, grabbing ice..so she will get the first row also but more towards the center.

again, there were tons of rvs that showed up way too early, before opening. that really put a wrench in the organization. they had to rush to let people in hours before we were ready because rvs were parking all up and down the roads leading in, the city was getting mad. we had to make adjustments. this is a massive thing to organize and having people simply show up thinking its ok has not helped but I assure you they are trying the best they can. :)
as someone says, once the dust settles and you all start partying, hopefully the fun you're gonna have will out weigh the entering issues. :)

WHAT THE HECK?? we got here at 6:00 and there was NO line, and my dad called me at 5 and said there was NO ONE in line. We pulled in and there were the 5th people in EDII!!!!!!
No one showed up for another 1/2 hour now they are only as far as 4 spaces over from us!! so 8 more rigs and it took 2 hours to park them!! kaos!!!!!!!
Festvalfan just showed up and she is only two doors down!! how is that busy???
AND last year they let us in early so they know the routine by now!!

I got here around 5:30 and rvs were lined up all the way down monroe, parked, not moving because of the line to get in. When I left around 7 they seemed to be caught up with all the early early birds. either way they were under staffed and things were not done yet, thought they had a few more ours to finish up. the winds are not helping matters. lol. so many staff going around having to re-put up fencing that blew over, etc. I will try and post some pics. Feel free to post some pics when you can. this will be fun to watch.

haha, got an email from bill to just give him a call when i get close...what a difference from last weekend. i think i saw that guy like 2 times over those 3 days, and only for a couple minutes each time before he was off and running again. leo was my hero, too. there was a mix up with my parking stuff and he had the passes to me the next day right before i left for the desert. i'm sure everyone at gv enjoys this much mellower weekend.

When i was there earlier it was before it opened so i didnt see but I saw a lot of the employee tents (yes the camping people sleep on site in tents) and those tents that were staked down were ok but definitely blowing hard.

I saw the cars backed up on monroe st trying to turn into the event, it was about 5:40. I have to admit when we showed up at 8 the spots are small, def no room for tent or tables in between us and neighbors. by the way Go country 105.1 already dropped their motorhome off. If you guys want to visit we are parked across from them to the right in the Tango fifth wheel. Not there right now but will be there maybe late tomorrow or early sunday.

The parking guys know nothing either. they don't know anything about how you are entered into the drawings, or about kids under 14 getting wristbands for camping. I thought I read somewhere on here that when you checked in you would get a wristband for your children? the guys exact words were "I don't know nothing but parking." Well duh! maybe not even that cause he couldn't point you to the right spot to begin with. His directions were turn right before the tent, make a left but make sure you are pointed east. Wrong directions. do you want us to park on top of someone who is already there. Sorry it may not make sense to you unless he told you those directions too.

Seee Don't worry about them knowing what color the camping bands are?
I don't think the kids need bands..
Since 14 and under are free they can re-enter all night.
I did hear they should have a student I.D or birth certificate to prove age if they look older....
Just have fun.It will go way to fast...:D

I apologise to countrygurl. EDI IS PACKED!!!!!! looks over 1/2 full possibly 3/4 full. IDI only 40 rigs..
We walked over (about 7 of us) to EDI to see who was there, ran into SCAR, and saw Angiemarie123, she has a sweet end spot, her billboard was taped tothe side, but she wasnt there. NO ONE was up!! finally two guys came out to chat. Very quiet over there.
ANYWAY HURRY UP AND GET HERE!!

Actually, they do look wider! there were plenty of elec spots open..but very crowded in there.
I just dont get how they think my 9 1/2ft wide hauler, with a 4' pop out and the door that swings out 3' would fit in a 14' spot.
People are moving already. Guess we were too loud last night!! ahahahahah
Festival and Hodgee are 2 doors down.

15' wide spots your talking about must be in Electrical Hook Up area. We pulled in last night about 11pm and had no problem in Non Elec area organizing our 3 rigs with plenty of space, setting up so canopies will fit snug and give us a nice "playground" in between. Parking guy's were way way too slow spotting one rig at a time.... you kidding me.... they also didn't seem too experienced at this, but were pretty cool anyway. Was windy as all heck last night, hear still a little windy, should settle down tomorrow. We parked rigs and headed back home till tonight / tomorrow. "Gotta Get My Drink On" tomorrow... yee ha finally here.

Parking Guys?? What parking guys? They must hve given up by noon on Friday when we got here. They must have been gone for a while, because everyone in the back of ed1 was in a space and a half...or more. We lucked out and talked our way into a spot in front of the food area, but they need to figure a few things out next year...
1'st they need to figure out that motorhomes aren't 10 feet wide anymore.
2nd they need to have consistant and constant parking assistance.
for the kind of money we're all spending we deserve at least that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm having a great time, but I'm not coming back if they don't address this.

Richie,
Did you guys have a jeep toad with you? We were at food section and watched 4 Class As make a circle around Ed1 and then just park in front of the Food Section- Good Spots:D
The Space Size was random, or ended up being random and that is what seemed to cause a lot of the confusion.
No Markings on the ground that made any sense.
Why don't they use a Chalk Marker to layout the spaces?

My hubby's a surveyor and when he asked who did the lay out, they said us, we just "eyed it"...THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!

the guy told us that the green lines were done originally and then because the oversold ED1 they came back with the pink lines... who knows. when our friend showed up on Friday morning they had already given away all the electrical sites. fortunately he just had a lance so we were able to squeeze him on with us. what a mess. hopefully they will figure out a better system next year. it is just wrong that they so completely oversold not only ed1 but the electrical as well. the guy parking us was cool with us because we weren't yelling at him which seemed to make him happy and we were able to get 2 reasonably sized sites next to each other (2 of us showed up on Thursday night and then the 3rd on Friday morning). We got lucky but I know many who did not. we will keep our fingers crossed for next year

If you look at the Country Thunder website, they have spots you can buy, so you know exactly where you are to park and who next too, you can reserve them...that is the way to go! Then there is no question, you are assigned
G55!! so go park there...duh, like that is rocket science. Maybe they can hold a class from Country Thunder on how to do this.

even if they charged an extra fee to have a reserved spot it would be worth it... what's another $25 buck on top of everything else they got from us.

Yeah, that was our group... We asked one security guard if we could park there and he said "I guess so, I'm not the parking Nazi." which was translated into "The security guard we spoke with said it would be fine to park here" when the fire department came by. By the time they really figured out we shouldn't be there, there was no where else to put us.
