I see that they say I cannot bring an umbrella. However, I am mildly allergic to sunlight and have had an allergic skin reaction even for just 5 minutes of exposure under extreme heat. I am also extremely allergic to sunscreen. I use an umbrella to protect myself when I am out in the sun a lot. How can I get allowance for an umbrella?

Check in the medical tent but the rules say no umbrellas...they block the view

Oooh - wow....not sure about that one - I remember last year they did have covered seating - but it got pretty packed pretty fast....

I know it's a great festival, but if I was that allergic to sun I probably wouldn't go to an outdoor 3 day festival in Indio. Umbrellas would block a lot of people's views--especially us short folk. Maybe get there super early and stake out a space under the covered tent?

Exactly what I was thinking.

i remember a large tent that was in the middle of the grass a ways out from the mane stage. maybe that's an option.

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking of!

Yeah the tent would be your only option, you can hear the music of the mane stage from there, and somewhat see the screens for viewing. Also they have covered benches in the beer/mixed drink area to the right of the main stage. Good luck, you may want to reconsider.

If you have VIP bracelets you can stay in the shade and not see the stage

And there is that option... as long as you can hear it - you're still there...right?!?!?

according to the map, they moved the shaded area that was directly across from the mane stage and placed a stupid sculpture directly in front of it. not sure if there'll will even be a decent spot with shade. its a full weekend in the sun even if you are trying to avoid it. be careful and good luck, ga129!

oh...you should go to a trade joes or whole foods and fdefinitely find a natural non chemical sunblock.

my mother is going through chemo and so its a big ddisappointment that the shaded areas near the mane stage are very limited and have been moved. we got a spot there last year.
