So let's say hypatheticly that someone is going and used all their money for tickets and tried to take in a couple of snacks, because they are diabetic or hypoglycemic.
How stict could they be in enforcing the no water and food policy?
If they do not allow these things and insist that the public buy from their vendors, and and some one needs to eat immediately because of blood sugar issues (and we know how long those food lines can be), they should be able to have something in order to stay safe and healthy. I am only talking about packaged snacks, nothing that will give you food poisioning..
It could be argued that these type of people should consider this before buying their tickets... That would equal discrimination..
Sealed bottled water should be free or at the very least be able to be brought in, because it is going to be hot and dehydration is another liability..
Just putting this out there, in order to keep everyone safe and healthy..
Sorry about spelling errors... But I wanted to get this up.

But how will promoters make a gillion dollars if they start allowing people with health needs to prevent death?

That is why I said snacks... BBQ is a staple food and "real" food. Just trying to look out for everyone. It's in my motherly nature..
How about FREE water to prevent dehydration and alcohol poisioning (LOL)!!!
Not to mention the fact that California is a "sue" happy state.

if you are diabetic you can probably bring food and leave it in the medical tent, where, if needed, you can return and get what you need. that is also where you will probably be asked to keep any medication/syringes if you require that, too. if you have a note from your doctor and need to keep food on you i think they would oblige, as well.
also, in terms of water, they have the 10 for 1 recycling program. pick up 10 empties and get 1 free cold fresh bottle of water.
but if you are coming out to a festival with a medical condition and don't take the steps to be sure you will be alright(like bringing money for water, etc.) then it is on you if something happens, imo.
also, it is very easy to empty out a water bottle and fill it with vodka, all without breaking the seal, hence the no outside water allowed rule. of course, it all depends on what security guard does the checking, so if you wanna try and bring stuff in, just sit back and watch how the checking is going and then get into the line that looks the most lax.

So can I bring my empties from home and get free water all day?...LOL

no they are talking about empties on the polo field. this program helps keep the field free from empty bottles.
people with medical needs will be met. just bring proper documentation and ask to check in with the medical folks when you get there. This is covered on the "frequently asked questions" page.

I actually agree with you. You know about the heat, etc. before you go. If attending the event will endanger your life, just don't go.

Actually, my husband has a rod in his leg and normally we would rent a wheelchair. I am still trying to figure out how StageCoach is able to accomodate him... We will check in at the first aid tent... Not that it will help.. But I am hoping that they will have suggestions.. As his leg still swells, because his injury happened in Feb. He doesn't have documentation.. Then what? He has fresh injuries and the note in Spanish that his doctor wrote in Costa Rica. Please Advise Countrygurl...
He is a Chiropractor and has never been in this position before... And we hope not for much longer, but he is healing slowly and the screws won't come out until Aug at the earliest....

Country...they will be able to tell by looking at him that isn't isn't mobile, has a huge incision from the rodding, etc. As a medical professional myself, I know they'll figure it out and take great care of him if the need arises. Plus he's a Dr. himself and they'll take that into consideration.

you should be able to rent a wheelchair somewhere near where you live, possibly from a hospital or medical supply store.

stage-a-coach!
haha.. i get it.. maybe the only one?
Anyways.. Regarding this thread.. GV has free water at the festival in fountains, and if you are going to pass out or die, you can always go to first aid.. I'm sure they will take care of you.
Seriously, if someone was diabetic and they went to a music festival without any cash expecting to get free stuff, they deserve whatever happens to them.
